Keep the shiny side up

So I've been looking for awhile and can't seem to find out what it is. As some of you already know last weekend I changed the oil on my 97 valk. But at first I took off the wrong plug. I originally took off the one on the left side of the lower radiator house housing. It takes an Allen head to take off. Only a little oil came out. Upon deeper looking I realized my mistake and removed the correct plug. My question is what did I remove first? What is it called? Thank you ahead of time.

That has a purpose in the original machining I think. No harm if it doesn't leak.

No. 11 on the fiche, comes up as a bolt, sealing. I would say then, like mentioned, it is a plug for the oil port.

If in question on how to do something a bunch of it is covered in Shoptalk. Might save some time and a possible "dammit" moment. Shoptalk has it entertainment value as well but is informative.
