Great scenery in NorCal, Rob! We grew up there and have been on many of those roads, although that was before I found the Phat Girl. Good selection of music too!

Very nice, thanks for the ride-a-long Rob. Brought back some memories for sure. I believe that's where we had cut over from Red Bluff at the end of the 3 Volcanoes Tour. I had the privilege to tag along with Dave, John & Brad (?) along that stretch while they were on their way further due north. We'd split about Battery Point and I'd looped around into OR and made my way back to pick up my Russell Seat. What a great trip that was, mapped out by our great hosts Dick & Margo. Keep em coming!

Savago, I highly recommend working Platina Road into your plans also. I don't think there was more than a 1/4 mile of straight road. The cafe in Platina has excellent Breakfast Burritos. When you get to the coast south will take you thru the Ave of the Giants. North will take you to some beautiful scenery. If in Eureka, don't pass up dinner at the Samoa Cookhouse.

Hey Rob, hip is coming along good. Dr. said end of May before I can ride....but he did have a smirk on his face as he said it... I'm going to try to get on her tomorrow, see how that goes. I feel the getting on/off is going to be harder than riding. Craig

I'm sure you are right about the getting on and off. Don't pull something and set yourself back another month.

Didn't I see that the Leggett drive-thru tree was damaged or destroyed this past winter?

I think it was a different one. I don't remember the name of it though. It's kind of sad to see these disappear. I know they are man made touristy things. But I remember my first MC trip thru NorCal in '77. There are many of those things gone now. There was one that was made into a store that must be gone also, I haven't been able to find anything on it.

Which hip did you have done? I had the rt. hip which made it more difficult to swing the leg over, had to take it slow. But once in the saddle, no problem, riding in under a month.

My mistake, you are correct, it was the one in Calveras Big Tree's State Park (near Yosemite), The Pioneer Cabin Tree. Fallen after a storm flood water run-off this past January. Leggett is the one that always comes to mind. Sorry for the hi-jack.

I had the left hip done. Anterior approach, so I'm itching to be on 2 wheels again. I feel I can ride no problem, BUT... I certainly don't want to hurt myself and set back the healing. Craig
