Keep the shiny side up

Sioux Falls South Dakota

« on: April 30, 2017, 06:48:11 AM »

So yesterday I changed out all the spark plugs on my valk. And I had earlier in the last year had plastic ripped my taillight black or (smoked) it. But after a woman stopped me to tell me that I had no tailight and when I checked it, it was fine I decided to for the safety of myself and who ever may be riding with me to remove the plastic dip. But I used the wrong stuff and I dulled my tailight. So last night I sanded it down through the process and polished it out and now it looks brand new again.  Cheesy
Now I just need the weather here in South Dakota to work with me and warm up so I can ride again.  Evil

An FYI on smoked lenses. It's illegal in all 50 states. My local LEOs call it a secondary ticket; meaning they don't stop for it but add it on to another ticket. So, if you get stopped for another reason, you can expect a second ticket.

In addition; why would anyone dull their lights when we need to be seen better by the cages?

I smoked it cause it looked better. And trust me if they can't see me they sure can hear me. I run the cobra six into six with no baffles. But all is good now, I cleared it with no problems.

I'm gonna do that mod this summer also. I plan on converting all my lights to led. Also would like to check into a headlight halo led.  cooldude

Phoenix....don't bet on it that those loud pipes will save you.

This lady in the below pic didn't hear my MarkT pipes with full trombones in and I was doing 67mph when she jumped right in front of me. I was in the wide open expanse of Wyoming. And those pipes were LOUD! Didn't matter.  You can see the "tattoo marks" from the forks and triple tree.

Loud pipes save lives? Get in your car, truck, whatever, roll the windows up and turn the radio on. You won't hear much outside noise. At 60 mph you out run your sound. Don't rely on that belief.
