Anybody have experience with Sygic Nav software?  It's aimed at pro users - truckers and such.  Also, loads on your smart phone then links to a number of cars with infotainment / nav screens.  Supports Android & IOS. See http://www.sygic.com/gps-navigation Downloading it now.  Might be the ticket to replace Garmin with their stupid Basecamp software - really P.O.'d at them after being loyal for over 15 years. Comments, experiences?

Had Sygic on my phone for a short time...got rid of it...It was burning my phone battery down even when it was off.
I have Map Factor as an app on my Nexus Phone, but I use Google Maps...with Data On locally to access Live Traffic, and I use the "Offline Areas" feature with several downloaded maps for road trips with Data Off Most of the time.  Using google maps when I cross into the USA "DATA IS SHUT OFF" using only the Offline Areas Downloaded maps...updating or adding new areas over WIFI only.
Re: Map Factor...I have it just as a backup with maps of only the States and Provinces I plan to ride loaded...Map Factor Auto updates the maps just like google does with it's downloaded "Offline Areas"
Just be sure you do your downloads and updates over WIFI instead of burning through DATA:

I use Sygic, Mark.  Haven't noticed a battery drain but I keep my phone charging when using it for GPS and it's usually in ultra power saving mode when not on a charger.  It's a pretty darned good app, with lifetime upgrades.

I have a Garmin 660 and use https://rideplanner.harley-davidson.com
I find it much more user friendly than Basecamp.

I save the route on my PC and drag it onto the Garmins SD card.

You can email routes to riding buddies etc.

If you don't like Basecamp, like I don't too, give https://www.myrouteapp.com/ a try. It is free to register. You don't need the paid version and you can just download the route straight into your Garmin. I use it all the time for planning my rides.
