Rob, I'm so sorry to hear the news of your daughter's diagnosis. I pray they find a cure not only for MS but ALS soon. I know they've made advances in the treatment of MS but it won't be enough until it's wiped out.

I too have been blessed with a wonderful family(now extended with 4 grandkids) and we remain close.
I love the time I can spend riding but I don't take anything for granted anymore.

I'll pray for your daughter. Thanks for replying, Rob.

If it is the "relapsing/remitting" kind, it might not be so bad. My wife has been diagnosed with
it for 20 years. There's some good treatments, different ones work for different people. Copaxon
is the one that works for her with no obnoxious side effects. Another one she tried for a while
that was just a pill was like poison. Here's a picture she took not long ago while she was on a
horse ride in South Dakota:

She hauls her horses all around in a trailer behind an F250 and rides rugged trails.
And always goes on the Fall Color ride...

So sorry MH and Hubcapsc to hear that MS with your daughter and wife respectively.  I so hope a cure can be found.  I know progress has been made.   A little more than 3 years ago my stepson drew his last breath having had lifelong Cystic Fibrosis.  He was 29 and expected to pass by age six, but they made tremendous gains in this disease over the years, but not the final one as yet.  It was tough to see all the treatments he had to do on a daily and 2 week intensive hospital stays several times a year.  It really hits home at Christmas as on Christmas 2013 was the final time he was conscious, and it tears my wife up pretty good at this time.

However there really is no forever and I can say that with absolute certainty due to an experience that happened soon after my stepson Jeremy passed.   Someday maybe I will start a thread about it as I am sure others on this site have experienced something similar.

Thank you guys.  cooldude I didn't mean to hijack away from Russ's awesome post. It just struck me emotionally . Right now everything is new and we are just learning about what's going on. Thank you all for your thoughts. Back to the original post......I wish you all enough. I know I've had it in my life.  Smiley

Rob, you didn't hijack this thread. You enhanced it. I'm encouraged by what a couple of the others had to say about progress.

To the others who've contributed, Mike, Robert, Bf, and Ross, thanks so much!

Alphadog, I'm so sorry about your Stepson. We have a friend who's daughter is fighting CF. I pray that a cure is near for that horrible disease. Thanks for sharing!

Russ I have seen that video it seems every week on facebook and it always makes me ...pause... and be thankful for the many blessings of our creator

Rob, it is tough when anyone you care for is given a diagnosis of a disease, we all have family who has been thru this or will go thru this
as nobody gets out of life alive in the end

I'm greatful that my oldest, Alana is well and will be soon married to a good man and wont ever forget the prayers of this group. Y'all cost me a pretty penny indeed when she did the lymphoma walks several times   Smiley   There will be other Inzanes and I will see you then if not before.   Let us know if she will be doing an MS walk one day so we can help in some way.

Thanks for sharing with us and I wish all of you and your loved ones a refua shelaymah  ( a perfect healing)

Russ,

My first time to see that video... Thanks for posting it!!! It resonated profoundly with this weary pilgrim, and my day is brighter because I did view it... I also appreciate the personal anecdotes shared by others expressing sentiments on this... "I complained because I had no shoes... then I met a man with no feet..." We are all blessed... those among us who know to appreciate those many blessings are indeed the ones 'with enough'! Thanks again...

Thanks, Don, Evan and Bruce. You are right about you conjecture, Bruce. I'm sometimes guilty and get  impatient with someone or want to "help" those who are lacking manners.  It's my wife who then lays the wisdom on me and states, "Let it go, you don't know what kind of day they've had or what they're dealing with in life. It kind of puts it all into perspective.

Thanks, Robert. Those were beautifully sung. I'm semi familiar with Enya and have liked "Only Time" ever since I first heard it years ago.
