Had to use it today and this is what it looks like before the bike goes on.  The 2X6 keeps the undercarriage from hitting. The Anti Skid keeps the tire from spinning. The sheet metal in the center is to put the centerstand on and not dent the table. It comes off while loading the bike. The side boxes are a gift from Dave.

This is where the wheel sits when the bike is up on the centerstand. When the plate is out the wheel drops straight down for removal.

Nice set up. I talk to Mark at D&D and he told me to ease the front wheel up on the ramp and than you stand up taking your weight off the seat which takes the weight off the suspension. Then slightly power the bike and ease the rear wheel up on top the ramp. Works like a charm. Now for the sheet metal plate I think it is a good idea, but my lift as been used so many times there is a place already worn and dented where the center stand goes. Still a good idea so I can stop any further damage.



I also use 2 2x4's to prevent the lift from moving while I load the bike.


I also bought this dolly, so I could move the lift around by myself to clean under it or if I wanted to relocate it in my garage.


Now I really like the black diamond(rubber?) material you have on your ramp. Where did you get it? How did it attach?

My lift maybe a little beat up, but I paid less than half of a new one and it works perfectly. It is a great tool to have. Yesterday after my ride I threw the bike up on the lift and cleaned and polished it (and even clean the wheels) in a hour. Today no aches or pains from crawling around on the ground. Well worth the investment just for that.

Now I have to figure out how to have someone actually do the cleaning.

Good luck on finding someone to clean the bike...  I gave up..

Diamond Plate Rubber came from Harbor Freight. It is peel and stick and only been on there about a year so I can't comment on how durable it is.

Here is the reason for it being on the lift today.

I had to remove the muffler to get at the lug nuts with my impact wrench.
They had some corrosion and would not come loose with a breaker bar.
Cruddy look is from the PB Blaster I sprayed on them to help getting them off.
I put anti-sieze on the studs last time but not the lug seats...

While it was up there it got an oil change, new plugs and new diff lube.

Holy sh**t that sounds like a lot of work. Glad your doing the work and not me. If I did it the muffler would fall off along with the wheel in the first 5 miles and it would have been leaking oil and diff fluid from the time it left the garage.   Why did you put the Diamond Plate Rubber on after all those years of not having it on there? Does it give you traction? Has it slip when backing the bike off ? How many times have you use the lift in the last year? Will it be easy to get off once installed if I didn't like it?

Job wasn't that bad. Muffler came off easily, Big BF put them on for me not too long ago, so it had new "Muffler Bearing" not welded in place yet.

Diamond plate should peel right off if you don't care for it. If any stickem stays behind, some brake parts cleaner will take it off. I keep a few cans around to clean up oil spills..

I only use the lift two or three times a year so it gets dusty. I forgot to wipe off the dust and had some wheel spin going up the ramp so I decided that a traction aid was in order.
