Can anyone recommend a store in the Houston area that sells motorcycle audio?  I want to add a sound system to my bike but just not sure about ordering online. I don't have a fairing so it would have to be. Handlebar setup.

I don't know of any in particular.  On the Border might have some, but it's not real likely.  I'd call before you headed over there.  Cycle Gear has some on their website, but I doubt they'll have any in stock.  You could probably walk in and have someone help you with ordering to have them delivered to the local store, though.  Renegade's by Almeda is unlikely to have anything, but they might be able to order something for you as well.

I think you're more likely to get something online.  If you have specific concerns about online, let's talk, maybe we can help allay concerns.

Use online to find the equipment you want.  I'd suggest putting the question on the General Board as to what system folks have and which ones work well at high speed.  Also, what will be the input?  Satellite radio, mp3, etc.  Bluetooth or wired?

Once you have a brand and model, then use the website of that company to locate a local retailer of the equipment so you can go and look at it, discuss with the sales folks, get questions answered.

I have the equivalent of the old HD cyclesound system that is two chrome bar mounted speakers about 1.5-2" in diameter at the speaker side facing the rider and a chrome amp that I mounted down by the petcock lever. I used to plug an MP# player into it years ago and now plug my phone into it. Sounds reasonably good, but is washed out at highway speeds (didn't used to be).

I'm sure they make them with bluetooth connectivity now.

One of the Houston crew took a different approach and mounted 5 or 6" speakers in housings that he mounted on the engine crash bars and amplified them. He could hear them at anything up to light speed.

I've got Kuryakyn blue tooth "Sound of Chrome" handlebar speakers on my '98 and they sound great sitting in the driveway. At highway speeds, much of the sound is drowned out.
