It was 4 years ago today that I got that call from a state trooper asking me If I knew my husband had been in a motorcycle accident...then telling me they life flighted him to Topeka.  That was the beginning of a new adventure.  Due to the accident, the brain shear, fractured neck and other injuries, my husband was no longer the man that I married.  I grieved for the man he was and learned to love and accept the man that he is now.  He is alive, walking, talking, and able to work, which is something we were not sure he would even be able to do.  I am very thankful and praise the Lord often for bringing him through that time in his life!  Count your blessings folks, you never know when things will change!  This pic was after a few days in the hospital.  When I first saw him, I did not even recognize him.  He has healed well, and although not the same man that I married, I still love him, and at times, even more than before!

So many of the VRCC family were there for us during that time, and for that we are eternally grateful!  Thank you all for being part of our extended family!

Wow Lori, That is an amazing testimony.  I know about healing but nothing that I would say fundamentally changed who I am.  My prayer is that God continue to bless both of you

I only started to get to know Carl in person since the crash, and I really like him.  I do, however, understand that a loved one becoming a somewhat different person takes getting used to, which can be difficult.  My wife married a somewhat-in-shape 155-pound young man.  Let's just say I'm not exactly that anymore.  My much-improved personality makes up for it, though.  Roll Eyes
