Could he have possibly cut you some slack with 29 over vs 30 over? Must be prepared to pay if you want to play...good luck. I pulled over for 60 in 45 by a motorcycle cop...quite the dick, he also got me for no signal..."You used it every time until you pulled into the mini mart...5 points and $480. Now I am only saying he was a dick because of the piling on with the signal infraction...I was speeding

Are you calling yourself on that because of the nature of your mistake (94 in traffic...whew.) or because you got caught by John Law? I sense that you are somewhat sorry for what happened. The need for speed can get you dead in the wrong place, wrong time, sir. Not judging, just saying. Four hundred plus. Big time fine. He got your attention (police love to do that); so please give it some serious thought when the right wrist gets twitchy again. VRCCs truly don't like reading the stories and obits of members gone too soon. Riding sanely and getting the thrill are not necessarily exclusive of each other. Take care, please.

TRUST me-you Ain't alone. I wuz 85 in a 65 and he cut it to 75 in a 65-BUT it still lightened my wallet bout $175.00. These things only git expensive when speeding WHEN you gitz caught! Ask yerself-how Many times before the driving award didja git away with it? Willin to bet WAY more than gittin awarded! Ya twist da loud grip ya takes yer chances! Nudder words-yer turn to crap out! RIDE SAFE.

I have a few of those Tshirts. All but one in a cage though. Coulda had 5 today (bike), but I pick my spots, and I watch like a big ticket depends on it. I smelled some roses too. My theory on riding is simple: It doesn't all have to be a race, but some of it does.

SpidyJ,
It's hard to not go over the speed limit when out on our F6es. The last time I got caught was in a car going 81 in a 65. I was on a stretch of road I had traveled many times and had never seen law enforcement. I just happened to pick one of those weekends where their jurisdiction got "extra" money to pay their overtime I guess and set up a speed trap.
Did I learn my lesson? Hell no....but I did get a radar dectector. Got an Escort Redline, which was rated as the top detector a few years back. I realize they'll never be foolproof(won't help in instant on situations, etc) but.. I usually only go over the limit on interstates and other superslabs. Even then, I'll always use a rabbit in conjunction with the detector. There's ALWAYS a willing rabbit out there, it seems. Truth is, with todays speed limits being 70-75mph in a lot of states, there isn't the need, for me at least, to go much more than 10 over.
I haven't gotten a ticket lately...knocking on wood.

Yah, best to get a 250 honda rebel, they only go 65 mph downhill with the wind... actually, I own a 250cc scooter and the wife said if I EVER get a speeding ticket I will have to sell it, lucky not yet since it does go as verified by my GPS 78 mph top speed (downhill that is.... )

My wife has a 250 rebel and I have rode it 70mph many times,, no problem. It feels like a mini bike.

Every bike I've owned since I was 13 has been wound out to its limit. Except my Valkyries. I backed off at 120.

Every bike I've owned since I was 13 has been wound out to its limit. Except my Valkyries. I backed off at 120. Mine has seen 130, I think that it had a little more but I was running out of straight road. I rarely go above 110 these days, the Interstates start to feel a little squirrely after 115.

Yup, the money loss stinks, but think of this. One more like that (or an accumulation of smaller citations on top of this) you could lose your license? That means you become dependant on others for transportation. Or, if you take a chance and opt to drive anyway without a license, get caught, you will get a ticket and probably go directly to jail.
Then you lose your license longer and incur fines and cost. Never been there, but seen many that have and are. As a wise man once told me,, "it ain't crowded walkin"! Losing your license isn't a good thing.

I had a cop pull me over once in my truck on the way to work for not using my blinker. Then when I informed him that in our state we don't need to use it, that it is a courtesy, he tried to argue with me then I pulled out my state drivers license book and showed him front page he told me well if all comes out fine I'll just give you a verbal warning. Well all came back fine and off to work I went. He was a small town cop just screwing with people. I was on a gravel road in the middle of no where. Why was he even out there? Anyways there have been times several matter of fact that I have received speeding tickets. All in cages though. Seems the cops in my city like my bike. I even pulled up right next to one on a bike and he kept checking mine out. You don't know how tempted I was to ask, wanna see how fast that thing is? Lol good luck to all and just keep the shiny side up. Be safe all

Yeah, 31 and 22 are both places where everyone wants to open it up a little, done it myself once or twice. Been caught once or twice too, been lucky though, no tickets. I work EMS and the ER, the cops like us and cut us some slack, as long as we aren't being total dicks. Or speeding while weaving in and out of traffic. I've, luckily, gotten a walk at 30 over. But the only folks on the road were me and the cop, and I knew the cop.
