I liked some others too, but he was the Bond of my era.  Hope the Bond girls are waiting with a cold martini -- shaken, not stirred.   cooldude

Ol Roger Moore was the best at playing 007 in the old "cheesy" sexist, and super hero style.  One had to take Bond movies of that era with a grain of salt kinda like good ol groaner jokes, but I enjoyed them.

I'm sad we lost him. But Sean Connery is the one and only 007 in my book. Not even close.

I enjoyed Sir Roger Moore as 007 James Bond BUT in my minds eye Sean Connery absofrikkinlutely NAILED it-James Bond. While in the Navy I read All the books Before seeing any of the flicks. RIDE SAFE.

I also read all the books and agree that Sean Connery (through Thunderball) was closest to the James Bond in the book.  Daniel Craig is a close second. Roger Moore worked with what he was given.   When they twist jumped an AMC sedan over a river with a Louisiana Sheriff in the passenger seat and had Tatu as a villain, the series lost me until Pierce Brosnan took over.

Sean will always be the best in my opinion, but dear Roger Moore burst to fame when I was a young boy, he of course played Sir Lancelot in a great tv series. What can I say it's the end of an era.

Yeah, not much of a James Bond car. The guy that jump the AMC cars had a traveling show. He tried other cars but couldn't get the twist move to work. I like the scene but an AMC for 007?

Simon Templar.  The Saint.  Drove a Volvo P1800.  Classy car, classy sleuth. Cool

My brother had a copper colored 1972 P1800E with an electric overdrive gear that pushed the little 4 cylinder, fuel injected B20 (I believe) engine to a bit more than the standard four speed.
Full leather interior, hand stitched.  Nice.  Wish it was in the garage.

See you, sir Roger.  Rest easy. angel

My word how memory can fail ! In 1956 I was watching Roger Moore playing Ivanhoe, research shows that I am an imposter and maybe should change my handle. Ivanhoe was one of King Authers knights but alas and alac was not Sir Lancelot.
What should I do?

I am ole school, Mr. Mooe was the best, But Sean Conary was is the whit him, The movie industry insulted the Bond legacy cast the little shrimp Tom Cuuse for the part, never watched one since ruined it for me.

Holy Crap! Am I that old that I remember Sir Roger Moore as Ivanhoe, loved that intro with the song on that series with him riding that white stallion as it pranced/trotted ...at least i think it was a white stallion, mind you the show was in black and white, so who knows!  He was the ultimate gentleman...ahhhhhh the good ole days, eh!
