http://circa.com/politics/barack-obamas-team-secretly-disclosed-years-of-illegal-nsa-searches-spying-on-americans

More than 5 percent, or one out of every 20 searches seeking upstream Internet data on Americans inside the NSA’s so-called Section 702 database violated the safeguards Obama and his intelligence chiefs vowed to follow in 2011, according to one classified internal report reviewed by Circa.

The Obama administration self-disclosed the problems at a closed-door hearing Oct. 26 before the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court that set off alarm. Trump was elected less than two weeks later.

Barrack Obama is no longer President.  Hillary Clinton has been defeated in her attempt.  It's the past.  Let it lie there.

The job of conservatives at this time is to gain more support from the middle portion of the voting public so as to maintain their strength both executively and legislatively.  It will not be accomplished by beating the drum on what has happened in the past.

Let it go, please.

Do we forgo the prosecution of serious criminal acts because the parties involved lost an election?
Would this not encourage more criminal acts?
The integrity of the system must be defended. And the only defense the system has is the law.

I'm not sure which serious criminal acts you are referring to ? The NSA intercepted internet data that had references to foreign targets. They were in violation doing so and fessed up. Per the linked article :

The NSA acknowledged it self-disclosed the mass violations to the court last fall and that in April it took the extraordinary step of suspending the type of searches that were violating the rules, even deleting prior collected data on Americans to avoid any further violations.

“NSA will no longer collect certain internet communications that merely mention a foreign intelligence target,” the agency said in the statement that was dated April 28 and placed on its Web site without capturing much media or congressional attention.

this is today's news of the current investigation.

And thus it belongs in the newspaper or even the evening news.  By posting it here is the OP expecting to invoke a discussion, inform the unaware public, or just push in the face of some how evil the people they supported have been?

It is my personal opinion that repeated efforts to rub the opposition's noses in past wrongs will do damage to the conservative cause and do not promote the well being of this community.

The people who control elections, and thus some behavior, of this country are the so called moderates in the middle.  The winning strategy of conservatives or liberals is to win a larger portion of the middle ground.  They will not be largely won by realizations of how bad the one group sees the other side but by the revelation of how good it is for them that one of the sides is making decisions, that is the good things that one's side has done.

By continuing to repeatedly beat on what was done wrong by the other side one becomes perceived by the moderates as an undependable one note song.  They will largely ignored by the very people they need to influence.

I have ignored many of these threads. They do not get the hits they use to because it is old news. Lets move on to our current administration instead of focusing on our past administration. It gets old hearing the same old BS.

I too agree but it's hard to give it up due to Obama keeps popping up in the news like he is trying to stay in every ones thoughts. Just go away for awhile. George Bush faded away for the eight years of Obamas presidency. Give the new pres. a chance. Trump goes on a overseas visit, the Obamas have go on a overseas visit. Give me a break,Who cares to see him and her.  Are they trying to steal the spotlight, or maybe stay relevant?

@98valk: a agree that what the previous administration did was a violation on privacy of both foreign parties as also american citizens, and I hope that they shutdown the program in the current administration.

Still on topic, as NSA spying on people is something bad, what would be your views on forgiving Snowden for whistle-blowing the operation?
