Hello all. Iwas was just wondering what air pressure you run in your Darkside rear tires. I recently had a Austone Taxi tire mounted on My Interstate.  the guy that mounted it has it aired up to 40 psi. i know a lot depends on weight and such. I'm not a little guy 6'3 265lbs any help would be appreciated. All those that know me know what i do for a living. My fellow Motor cops think i'm nuts but i was tired of buying tires every summer.

i run 34 in mine but i don't have the taxi tire. I have a Yokohama Avid Envigor. I started at 40 PSI for a couple rides then let out little by little until it felt right.  cooldude It now feels right at 34PSI

I run my Altimax HP at 36, but I'm only 5'11" and 240#.  When I get the champiro mounted I'll probably start at about the same and adjust from there.

I've never used an Austone.

42 will wear the center on a Cooper
40 will wear the center on a Goodyear
38 will wear the center on a Champiro.

I have the Yokohama Avid Envigor, and I run it between 30 & 32 psi. My first darkside tire was a Falken which I ran at about 40 psi. It felt a little hard, and the middle of the tire became worn down pretty quickly (Too fast for a darkside tire).

The Yokohama at 32 psi feels good, and seems to be wearing a lot better.

And have walked er to triple digits plus and felt/feel comfortable. The ONLY M/C specific tire I have ever been worried bout-O K-scared the crap outa me in a rain storm after the oil washed of the surface and felt like it wuz STILL oily was a dunflop e-3. Couple folks here have had or have heard of bad things with the A T T-I ain't one of them. RIDE SAFE.

I run 40.  It does wear the center more than the outside tread but I prefer the solid feel.  Any less that 40 lets her wobble a bit at speed in a curve.

On my Goodyear Assurance Triple Tred 205 60, 40psi throughout it's life (on my interstate) of 37 thousand miles saw it wear evenly across the tire.  I have two other GATTs on both bikes at constant 40, and also have even wear.  And I check them routinely too.

Just sayin'

I can go down to about 38 with no symptoms, but much below that (just a few times) and I have had the wallow effect too.  Somehow it got down to about 30 once, and it slightly rubbed my swingarm too.  No damage, and caught right away.
