:police:Sellers Beware.  If you receive an E-mail from ANYONE asking  about your item and the E-mail contains a phrase that contains the words "final price", don't answer the  E-mail.  I placed my bike in the classified section twice, and both times I received an E-mail from different people expressing interest in my item and asking for my "final price".  Then when you answer the E-mail they offer to pay the price with an exorbent amount of money providing you send the added amount to their shipper by Western Union.  I asked them to send me an address so I could mail the title to them and asked why I had to pay their shipper instead of them.  I got no answer or further E-mails.  They were both scams.  I just thought you needed to know. :police:

I may have to post a bogus bike for sale, just to get a conversation piece check.  :2funny:

This is a very common pattern.  You can minimize these kind of responses by putting something in your email address that only a human understands should be removed.  Your very first response was generated by a machine...the scammer on the other end only got involved when you replied to the machines "response bait".

I got what I think is one of those e-mails yesterday on 2 of my classified ads.  Says it was from Mary Rhoda and the text in the body of the E-mail was the same on both e-mails.  It read:

"Hello Seller,
I am so much interested in your "item". So i want you to please get back to me with the present condition and also your final-price so that i can make my purchases. Awaiting your response.
Kind Regards,
Mary"

I sent a reply telling here I wanted $33,000 for my Valk Interstate that was advertised for $9000.  Got an identical e-mail on my chrome levers ad.  Have had no response from this person. This occurred yesterday evening about 3 to 4 hours after placing 3 ads.

Yipee!  I,m going to get $33,000 for my Interstate!!!  LOL

Their e-mail address is as follows:  maryrhoda4ever@yahoo.com

A buddy of mine was selling his 2001 Yamaha something or other (1600cc's I think) and he had a guy reply to his ad in the local classifieds who said he was interested and agreed to pay full asking price (9,XXX) and would have to arrange shipping to Michigan because he just moved there from here. He said "I'll send you a money order."

This guy actually did send a "money order." However, on the "Payer" field it had the name of some Mining Company. My friend, not being as dumb as I tell him he is, took it down to the bank and asked them to run the numbers and do some information searching. Anyway, bottom line was that this guy worked for the company and was fraudulently writing out money orders for stuff he wanted. It was fraud, and they weren't happy. Funny thing is, the guy payed for the shipping on the bike and everything already.

This time, the scammer wound up in the hole. I imagine in more ways than one.  :police:

I think I just sold my 2001 YAMAHA 1800 GOLDWING for $44,000.00! + shipping.

My 'cheque' should be in the mail.

Can't wait to get it.

I get those all the time.  I try my hardest to get them to send a check.....I never have yet to have them send anything......if they send a check I would hand it over to the local Police.

It really amazes me that anyone falls for this stuff, but my wife had one of her AVON girls fall prey last week......its a royal PITA for he, but she should have known better

I got the same series of e-mails on some mirrors I had in the Classifieds.  They must be mining that area for suckers. ;D
