I always dug this jet, it's down and dirty.

Used to have some based at Barnes Air Guard in Westfield, MA, my hometown.

Very cool watching this puppies take off and land.

Could never understand why they keep trying to kill em off, when they are so awesome at what they do.

That Gatling gun!!!   cooldude cooldude cooldude

I'm not a war plane buff by any stretch. But I've always thought those were the baddest ass planes ever made !

Thats also one of my favorites. I like the way the craft was built around that gun and its single engine performance. My bucket list is kinda short, but, driving one of those is at the top. [ never happen though]

They are a great asset in any ground war.   cooldude

I think they (USAF) wanted to get rid of them to justify the next generation air-to-mud fighter.

I think they are NOT getting a new one (anytime soon), so they should keep the old one.

We have guys flying the same BUFF (B52) that their grandfather and dad flew. (with multiple upgrades over the years).

It gets hard to justify new planes, ships, rifles, yada.... when our principle enemies are mainly using AKs and dull paring knives to cut heads off.

If the wacko in NK does something stupid, we may be using everything in a hurry though.  Well, everything he does is stupid, but you know what I mean.  I sure wish the Chinese (or someone) would take care of him, permanently.

Our local Wing of the Air National Guard flies the A-10. Every once in a while they will fly over our side of town and over my house. A cool sight for sure.

When I retired I was working at the Lockheed Martin jet engine control plant here in town. We built and updated the electronic engine controls that powered the Warthog(and many other planes and choppers too).

There is a bombing range in central Wisconsin that's open to the general public just about every day. Just drive in, set a lawn chair out and watch the best free show in Wis. The A-10 is the by far the coolest, but I haven]t seen one there in along time. Mosty they have F-16's. They usually drop practice  bombs from 3 different altitudes-then come in low with guns blazing.  Even see a B52 bomb on occasion. I'm going to ride up there next week if it ever stops raining.
