Need to make an electrical connection

Hey all,

I have a small aftermarket turn signal on the rear of the bike. Today I noticed one was not working.

I opened it up to see the socket broke away from the bracket which I assume makes the ground because when I touched the socket to the bracket the bulb worked.

I tried to solder it but it wouldn't take for me....I'm not very experienced at solder work and it's a tight spot.

I took a piece of wire, looped it around the back of the bracket and electrical taped it to the side of the socket and wedged everything in place with styrofoam. For now it's functional.

I was thinking maybe using JB Weld, but will JB male an electrical connection?

If not, is there anything that will mount the socket to the support bracket and make an electrical connection? I'm not sure what type of metal the bracket is, I'm just realizing I should have tried a magnet on it.

JB Weld won't make an electrical connection.  You would need to have the bracket welded or brazed depending on what it's made of.

Odds are, it's brass. In any case, if there is enough surface area on both pieces, you could use screws to mount them to a piece of brass that spans the break; if you have plenty of room, two pieces in a sandwich. Without photos, it's just a guess, and unlikely at that, given how small these parts tend to be.
