3 riders lost their lives during this years Isle of Man TT. I could never do what those guys do. Racing on public roads with all the associated hazards is just crazy. Makes me nervous just watching.

They do close the roads .... but having seen parts of the course and some of the video, it is way above my skill level.

Tough week over there this week, RIP to the three guys.

It amazes me how they manage to get their leathers on with balls that big!!

judging by the 3 cycle accidents within a few miles of me recently,  2 ending in instant head on collisions, has me thinking as always to keep my head on a swivel.   Cry

It seems more and more tragic cycle deaths close by me more than I can remember.  This last one was about 1 mile down the road the cyclist drifted over the center line around a 55 mph easy corner being in his early 50's and hit a semi truck hauling whey head on. Semi truck driver tried avoiding him tipping over his load (and entire semi) in the middle of the road.  It happened about 45 minutes before I was going on the same road in the morning with police detouring to other roads.

Those that have to respond to such tragic and gruesome deaths/accidents,  I do not envy your job for I could not do it seeing what I think I would see upon arrival.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the Isle of Man TT race is above everyone's skill level who actively posts in this club.  Wink

It's certainly above mine. Just watching those guys makes me squirm.

Racing like no other on the planet and it's their race in their land on their roads; outsiders are at a loss to compete against the home boys.
They know the risks, but it's in their blood to compete against peers.
Even the best MotoGP and Superbike racers know better than to go over there.
The top riders average up to 130 MPH over 37 miles of the course.

if you think the guys on 2 wheels are good, watch the sidecar division. the passenger is there for counter balance and the sidecar is just a platform for the him to constantly move right to left.

What do you mean??? I'd jump on the Fat-girl and run that course any day.

Of Course, my average speed would be about 100mph slower than those guys.  cooldude
