Was jumping the interstate into my shop today, haven't finished the approach and hung the kickstand spring stud on edge of concrete. Well guess it goes without saying, it freaking broke. 30 miles to stealership 4 to Ace hardware. Length of 6mm allthread, 2 coupling collars and  a nylock nut, back in business

I can't figure out what "jumping" means in this context.  Or how you had the kickstand so low as to hit concrete if the motor was running and it was in gear.  Got a video of this?  ???

I hope you didn't wack the sidestand mount itself.  Doing that bends the crossmember that the sidestand mount fastens to.  The telltale is that the sidestand stem that you use with your foot to lower the sidestand no longer rests in the middle of the clearance notch of the exhaust.

I must admit, though, that I never would have thought to try to bunny-hop a Valkyrie up over a ledge.

It's actually very simple to ride your valk with the kickstand down. While working on mine as it was on the lift all was fine, finished my work took bike of lift stand down and tried to start it, nothing checked everything tried again still nothing, looked at safety switch under neath and noticed that the lift had accidentally broke the switch. So I had to wire the two wires together tricking the safety switch into thinking stand is up. Bike starts just fine and drives. Problem now is light on bezel is constantly on. Looking for new switch to replace it with.
Let me correct myself, bike would start but once in gear would stall with kickstand up that's how I knew it was the switch under the bike. Sorry anyways outcome was same. Bike runs and drives but light stays on.
