I have 2 on the list, one being 20 years old magna and 17 year old Valkyrie I/S.  The VTX1800 was my 2nd choice over the Valk I/S some 8-9 years ago and so glad I made the right decision on that one.  I could be mistaken, but I would put both in the top ten list easily still today some near 20 years later in a performance muscle cruiser category.

Ripped around today on the 20 year old 750cc magna and I swear that thing from 0-60 mph can beat my Valk by the seat of my pants feel.  getting to near 60 mph in 2nd gear just seems faster than the Valk having to hold onto the handlebars harder since the g-force likes to push me back harder than the VAlkyrie does, but near double the size is deceiving on the massive Valk for sure as well.  That magna likes to be REVVED much higher than the Valk does.  Getting a NEW chain on it tomorrow so suppose to take an easy on the new chain for awhile anyways, will see?   Evil  Going to take some power out of the magna going to 17 tooth front sprocket vs. stock 16 tooth suppose to get 2-3 more mpg and 200-300 lower rpms at hwy. speeds would be nice with hopefully very limited 0 to 60 mph speed reduction.  It is for my son age 16 who cannot get enough riding it and only after 2 months of driving a cycle EVER,  he is doing very well keeping up with his old man... 2funny   He might be paying for his next REAR tire though seems to be wearing quicker than I expected, but I guess being a Dunflop K555 having soft tread and good sticking power,  5-6K miles tops is to be expected is all?

I also have two on that list. Two Valkyrie I/s's and a vtx 1800 retro. Love the power of the vtx

Way back in the day when the Valkyrie was on my radar I was also considering a V-Max and I what cause me to pick the Valkyrie was passenger comfort...if I didnt have a pillion...would have been the V-Max...glad I have the Valk LOL now it is my solo bike and we were, and hopefully will be again sport touring a KTM Super Duke GT...the V-Max is faster than the Valk but it will never be as cool

Yeah, would have been nice if the new Yamaha touring bike was a touring version of the VMAX.
