Rode across the Mojave in 114 degrees,, it was not that bad. Wore a long sleeve white shirt and drank plenty of water. Better than cold any day.

lol...obviously "different strokes for different folks" Cool I have ridden in plenty of very cold & wet weather over the decades and as long as the roads are free of ice, etc I can handle that. Can gear up for cold and rain, but just can't gear down enough for 100+ degrees as far as I'm concerned, especially on longer road trips... it really shortens your day when you've got distances to go.

Had days in SOCAL and SOAZ where I Thought my A/C had died in my big truck BUT figured out It were doin ALL it could do. I was in Gila Bend Az one summer and the local radio station said at about 2 in the afternoon it was 123 Degrees F. When I pulled over to go inside at this little fuel stop opening the door of the cab the heat hit me like a hammer blow. IF I was riding in that neck of the woods with my breathing issues I'd hole up in the day and ride from sunset to sunup. The heat being "brutal" is generally an understatement and I worked a flight deck in the waters off Nam. RIDE SAFE.

I enjoy being the only lunatic  motorcycle enthusiast on the road when the temps dip below 40 and below freezing as long as the road is dry.

Commuting even on the police bike with the windshield down is not fun when it hits 85 or up as stop and go traffic sucks in full gear.

Give me a 50 degree day over 90 any time  the bike even runs better in the cooler weather - at least it seems it to me

i am with OSS,  40-50 over 90+ all the time.

Not so sure though below 35 degrees since here in WI much colder than that can get slippery.  Coldest I have done is 34 degrees some 2 hours NO windshield and not planning on doing that again anytime soon.

I find Honda cycles overall have very good choke enricher systems unlike driving once a cold blooded carbed suzuki bike from the 80s way back when.  Under 50 degrees it would NEVER start full choke even when new.

Last week we had a high of 89 and welcomed the "cooling" trend. Sunday is suppose to hit 118. "Happy Father's Day"

Ditto on what OSS  said. For the last week or so, even now, don't think coming north will give you much relief.  Hotter than hell here and I haven't been riding much either. Riding when it's cool or even a touch cold is fine. I ride until there is sand and salt on the road.

I can dress to ride when it's cold. In the heat I won't ride in shorts like you see so many do. That's just foolish. If I do ride when it's hot out its in the evening.  The only thing moving other than me in the evening are the deer, deer 30. I'm a little more careful then as well

I've found that above 108°, you're cooler if you're not moving.

LOL!  I had marked it at 106 but I'm sure you are more accurate.

90 - 95 degrees (F) is my preferred riding temp but I do like to keep moving.   Smiley

Above about 90º I like to wear a longsleeve, heavyweight mock turtleneck shirt which I wet down every hour or so. I wear a ¾ length mesh coat over that. It keeps me quite cool (low humidity) for 45-60 minutes. I also roll up a 32oz cup of ice cubes in my oversize (27") bandannas and wrap it around my neck. It will stay for a couple of hours even in 100º+ temps.

It's a "dry heat" out west... Wink

Still it's better than riding around in an uparmored HMMWV, with no AC (my unit didn't have the ones with AC until 2008) in 130+ with all the associated gear I used to have to wear...

On the opposite side of the coin, I've ridden low 30's and geared up like the Michelan Man, and was hard pressed to enjoy that very much...thank goodness for heated gear!
