Has anyone else watched the Danish/Swedish police detective drama, The Bridge, on Netflix?  I'm quite enjoying it, being almost through the third (the latest (final?)) season.  It is in Swedish and Danish, with English (and perhaps other languages) subtitles, but it is well worth the time, in my opinion.  The crimes require the involvement of police from both Copenhagen, Denmark, and Malmö, Sweden, cities which are connected by the 7.8 km long Øresund bridge.  The characters are complex and well-acted, and although the plot lines are a little too complex to be realistic, the show is very engrossing.  Each season is self-contained, in that the crimes are solved, but the characters are interestingly developed from season to season.

It seems FX is going to be making a version of it using the American-Mexican border as the setting.

Haven't seen that one but it sounds a lot like "The Tunnel". In this case England and France. Maybe it's a franchise.

Wikipedia says that The Tunnel is based on The Bridge, and in fact the first episode's plot is virtually identical.

Netflix Canada has three seasons of The Bridge.  US Netflix doesn't?

The Mexican-American version started a few years ago and quite good.

Ciudad Juarez/El Paso version is a clone of the Swedish/Danish show and executive producers are the same, as I believe.  That gives continuity between the two stories that take place in different locales.
Really liked the American version, but haven't seen the other version as of yet.
Our favorite remains "The Wire" at this time. Smiley

FX....The Bridge.....July 2013-October 2014 If you are going to while away sometime in front of the tube, this was quality writing and acting imho.
