So it'll function as the riders backrest.

I know that at some point in the past I have seen one.

I want to do that to my Standard. But I'm struggling with figuring out a NOT hideous mounting plan.

Any thoughts? Pics?

I HAVE valk trunk already.

I KNOW I have seen them. But it may have been 10 years ago.

I just don't want it to look like a soup sandwich when I'm done.

Contact Matt at www.carolinabikeandtrike.com he made a polished stainless mount that moved the trunk forward on his Interstate and used the trunk as a backrest on his solo set-up ... I had a picture of it at the Johnson City InZane but cannot find it . It looked good on his bike and all the parts he makes are very well made .

What Joe said, Matt did a really good job  I cant find my pics either that I had taken at Johnson City Inzane!

I remember hearing that BigD also did one on his supervalk, maybe he will chime in later with his details of how he did it

For me the back seat is a great place to put all my stuff when travelling and keeps the center of gravity lower than putting stuff on the trunk rack

I am starting to think I might bail on the project. The novelty of it seems cool. And having something very few others have is aluring... I'm not sure it's worth all the hassle. If I put it low enough to function as a backrest... it's so close to the saddle bags it makes access to them awkward.

Plus I have the GoldWing for LONG rides... I mostly stay within a couple hundred miles of home on the Ol Valk.

You would need to change out the front saddle bag lid hinge to the  interstate catch. If you go that route you would also want the lid safety cables and the parts that keep the lid away from the bag.

agree,  if you already have a goldwing for touring with more storage,  why mess with a perfectly good stock Valk?  Then again,  If I had a goldwing,  I probably would not have 2 large touring bikes being goldwing and valkyrie in my possession.   For those who have the room for storage and financial means for 2, even 3,  Valks (or similar large bikes),  more power to you...  cooldude

I have in my garage 250cc, 750cc, and 1520cc to cover all my needs, all bought used oldest one 1997 some 20 years old.
