My wife and I were in a residential area. At a "T" intersection , I stopped and made my left turn in the cage. About a hundred feet or so up the road there was a tree branch on the edge of the road. I saw the motorcycle coming towards us. He (she) had on a Hi-viz jacket and a go-pro on the helmet.
I edged to the centerline , not crossing it , but avoiding the tree branch. The rider started waving his (her) arm and signaling with a number one sign (the finger) and swerved to the centerline . I did not come near their piece of roadway. IMHO , it was a dumb stunt on the riders part. Had my lane been blocked , I would have stopped and waited. My guess is that it was a newby. At least the proper gear was being worn so when they crash , they have a chance.

If I see another road user starting to move to the road center I too will wave.

Not using the number one sign.

I will also start to move to my right away from the oncoming vehicle.

If I had seen the branch I would have started slowing so as to be ready to stop if the oncoming vehicle had continued across the center line towards me.
