wow,  hard to find a set that fits well.  Been shopping for hours and several stores ending up at farm and fleet once again went thru Caterpillar and Wolverine and ended up going with steel toed hiking boots made by KEEN instead.  Wider (EE) and softer insoles and not as high up (mid-level) and tons more flexible.

Forget about medium (normal) sized without EE (wider width) sizes with that steel toe up top.  Amazing after driving to the main larger farm and fleet store some 40 miles away I ended back up in a nearby farm and fleet town some 13 miles away and found those KEEN hiking boots steel toed mid-level for only 70 bucks on clearance.  The rest of the caterpillar and wolverines were also on clearance for 50-70 bucks as well all over 100 bucks full retail.  Cross my fingers these work for walking 4-5 miles on concrete daily is no picnic on my poor wussy feet bottoms.

Not a bad price since hard to find even hiking boots good quality under 50 bucks NO steel toe.  The BAD:  UNABLE to drive pretty much ANY motorcycle with steel toe boots UNLESS having a heel/toe shifter.  NO way can get size 11 1/2 EE steel toe even hiking boots under the Valkyries stock front shifter.  Sure hope these work out since 3 blisters on the bottom of my feet near quarter size is NO fun and yes, I did try dr. scholls gel cushion work boot linings which maybe helped some but was too late before blisters came on.

Did my pipefitting in non steel toe red wing boots

Engineer / cowboy style for riding

My 2 cents

Keen are good boots have had several pair. I normally ride in my steel toe red wings. All shoes and boots are too wide for my skinny foot. I find it easier and more comfortable riding with my steel toes, call me crazy  uglystupid2

I have cobra flat floor boards on the Valk with stock shifter.  NO WAY can get steel toed boots UNDER that shifter is impossible unless heel/toe shifter required.  How u do it?

All 4 I bought could not decide until hopefully tomorrow when going with Keen hiking boots EE (extra wide) hope they work well.  I also bought steel toed thicker and cushier socks for walking purposes since most steel toed boots do not have much flex and less cushy bottoms, thus reason went with Keen who are more of a hiking mfg.   I figure try them out for 1 day and if no go,  try the other 3 and hopefully in one day show no wear so can return them to store.  260 bucks on a credit card for 4 boots - Yikes.  Luckily they all 4 were on sale for around 65 bucks each highest 70 and cheapest 50 bucks all on clearance.

You know the shift lever is adjustable, right? Just move it a spline or three.

Been wearing Survivors from wally wurld steel toed insulated since before I retired. Good service life and my toes didn't freeze in Minnesota winters. Since I installed the longer shift lever shifting her Not a problem. Can't remember what brand K-mart carried when I worked at the concrete plant in Lamar Colorado but cheap or expensive work boots Might last a year tween the sand and the acid and the water. The longer shift lever hits the boot for me about the big toe joint BUT I have NO problem with shifts. Some one mentioned adjusting the shift lever on the Valkyrie. EVERYBODY gotz ta find their own "sweet spot".  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

Timberland Pro, Alloy toe.  Around 150.00  but they wear great on the concrete slab all day.
