Kali and I made it as far as Beloit Kansas for tonight and are exhausted so went ahead and staying here tonight...

I think the spousal unit with her dad and the triplets are coming up on Amarillo TX and determined to push straight through, but they have the advantage of 2 drivers and air conditioning... Wink

Took an awesome detour home with the great group from BC and NW US, went to Kalispell for the night, then a quick 560 mile blast home, just pulled in the garage. My bike got upset with me for putting on a chrome radiator cap I bought at the swap meet that was a little stubborn...so I tapped it on with a towel covered screwdriver...she didn't like that at all. So she cried blue tears all over her side and my leg for the next day. Luckily one of the great Valhalla guys had a new spare and that got her happy again.

Amazing trip with great people. Thanks msb for allowing this flatlander to tag along with you guys all week, it was great. So nice to meet DDT, Serk (and his wonderful family) and everyone else.   cooldude

Glad I got to meet ya' and your fellow Canucks! (Which I learned isn't a derogatory term Wink ).

Kali was upset that we didn't go that way, she wanted to go to Kalispell, because she can spell... But we did meet a family from Kalispell at our hotel in Nebraska this morning, nice folks. He owns a motorcycle junkyard/repair shop in Kalspell...

Yeah, we decided an IBA certification should be done at the front of a long ride, not the end, and also should be done on superslab, not 2 lane back roads like we've mostly been running...

Beardo, it was great meeting you, hope you keep an eye on the Valhalla 2018 Rally and try to snag Griffin Rider and others from Calgary on your ride through to Grand Forks BC.

Serk, glad to hear that change of plan and some sound advise on the IBA for Kali.

Oh, and that bourbon wasn't too bad, it was just a little late in the rally to be drinking to much on the night before the long drive home. Even though it was the latest night I stayed up, around the fire pit with all the other's that hung around. Nice time chatting.

Thanks Gord, was great to finally meet you guys. I'll definitely plan on going to Valhalla next year.  Would be great if we could get GR and a few others from AB.

While Valhalla in Post Falls this year would have been great, there are only so many vacation dollars available.  I've had it in the back of my head to attend Valhalla for many years now.  With it being back in Canada in 2018, it might be a possibility.  My favourite roads in the area are Hwy 3 between Rock Creek and Osoyoos, and Hwy 3B north of Rossland, although it's been a while since I've ridden that one and I only have vague impressions of it.  Hwy 33 from Rock Creek to Kelowna is nice too.  I've never explored Washington on motorcycle, but assume there's some nice riding south of Grand Forks.
