My lady friend and I had just had lunch at The Bidwell in Ellington, CT.  Best damn wings in N.E. far as I'm concerned.

We were in the parking lot getting ready to head out and a couple of guys, Harley riders, were out there leaving also.

One of them yells over to me "What's that thing weight?"  I was pretty sure he was asking about the bike (99 I/S)  so I said, "north of 800lbs"

His buddy says "Those are nice bikes" and the first guy says "Yeah, I took one for a ride once, smooth"

I just said "Yeah, I like em"

We waved and left.

Came upon a small group at a gas station.  One guy walked over and said if he didn't ride a Harley, he'd probably ride a Valkyrie.  I appreciated the respect, but I did NOT reply that if I didn't ride a Valkyrie I'd ride a Harley.

With their S/Os permission I've taken some Females that showed up on a H/D for a ride on my Phatt Ghurl. Most all of them mentioned the lack of vibration and how Hard the Valkyrie accelerated compared to their old mans ride. Lady I dated for awhile her former male friend rode/rides a H/D and she was quick to point out ride comfort acceleration and the main thing she noticed was lean angle into the curves-her exact words-I had NO idea we could lean THAT far into curves-AND I was driving somewhat sensibly! Too bad I couldn't have hooked her up with a ride from Smokinjoe!  Roll Eyes ANY rider that is familiar with the Valkyrie has respect for it usually. Guy I know with a 16 H/D one of the big ones-I have zero idea of the letters involved-I Know it's injected-told me he wasn't even interested in tryin!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

It has been my experience that HD owners that travel further than the local watering hole usually have a bit of knowledge about other brands. Honda, BMW, Kawasaki  Triumph, et al, since most didn't start out with a $40k peice of butt jewelry. The ones riding in small groups tend to be less concerned about brand loyalty unlike the gaggle riders that behave suspiciously like lemmings.

The Girls always seem to attract a certain amount of attention at the fuel pumps but they do have a presence that many others can only hope for.  angel
