So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

I need to remove the glass lens from a Valkyrie Tachometer so I can replace the numerical face of the tach.   Taking the tach apart, there doesn't seem to be a way to get to that face.   Anyone have a suggestion?   The tach I'm taking apart is busted and I'm trying to recover the tach face to put into another tach.   Not getting far with this.   Surely there's a way to remove the glass from the case

Well, I've tried everything I know to do, it appears the "face" does not separate from the glass/lens or bezel based on all of my attempts to separate them.   If someone knows something I don't, I would greatly appreciate it if you would/could share that information.

My tach was crushed in an unfortunate incident and I have found a replacement but, the replacement has a peeling numerical face.   Was hoping to combine the parts to get a better end result.   Does not appear that's going to be possible.   Sad

Could it be held in place by adhesives?  This is probably a long shot, but try searching on youtube for honda tach or speedo repair videos.  I've fixed several cell phones using videos I've found there.  For 10 bucks you can repair a $500 phone that the store says they can't fix or charges you $100 to do a 10 minute job.

If it is adhesives, softening it with a heat gun or heating pad is probably the best way separate it from the case.  Sorry, but this is uncharted territory for me.

I suspect you are correct.   After repeated attempts, I have failed miserably.    Sad

Will give the U Tube idea a shot.   I doubt most folks have tried to do this.  No reason to.
In this case, the "new to me" tach is delaminating from the face of the dial.   So, I thought I'd use the face off of my old "crushed" tach.   The old one looks fine.   The "new to me" tach has a plastic film over the numerical face and it's peeling off and already contacting the tach needle.    Pretty sure this will result in a not so good situation if I don't deal with it now.

Heat is probably the trick (if that will work) but, we'll see or, I'll seek out another used tach.   Thanks for the reply.   cooldude

I do know (or am pretty sure I know) that I have seen replacement faces done on bikes like CB750s and others. You may want to peruse one of those forums to get an answer. Hope this helps!

Well, I've spent way too much time searching on the internet for an answer to my query.   Came up with squat.   I'm blaming that on my limited imagination and impatience for getting the task done.

Found another used tach and it is now installed.   It is, what it is.   Lips Sealed
