Federal agency seeks comments on ethanol-blended fuel

The Renewable Fuel Standard proposal announced July 5 by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency shows a slight reduction from the 2017 obligations but does not reflect the agency's promise to listen to motorcyclists, who have registered a low demand for higher ethanol blends.

The EPA should lower the 2018 volumes even further than proposed when the final rule is issued this year. The current proposed volumes, even though they are 1 percent lower than the 2017 volumes, would still greatly increase the risk of inadvertent misfueling for motorcyclists and all-terrain vehicle owners by continuing the increased availability of higher-ethanol fuel blends that are unsafe for these vehicles, such as E15

We absolutely do not need ethanol in our gasoline and the only people making money on it are the farmers and the ones in Washington getting kickbacks and campaign contributions. This is a prime example of how Government takes over. Depend on the people to do nothing!

Done deal. I am already an A M A Member. Gubmint in ENOUGH of my stuff.  AND zackly WHEN did the gubmint git Smarter than the folks that Actually BUILD the vehicles they are trying to legislate new forms of fuel for? Iffin I rekemember right didn't ALL American vehicle manufacturers come out AGAINST E-15? And again-countin on my rekememberer-did ANY M/C manufacturer come out in SUPPORT of E-15? Yeah-didn't think so.  RIDE SAFE.

I guess if you don't want to use E-15, don't use it. No one makes you use 93 octane if you want 87 octane.

Even if you put it in a new vehicle not on purpose or misread the pump or the guy fillin the tank puts it in the ground wrong and yer vehicle AIN'T sposed to use E-15 and ya duz your warranty/guarantee is null and void. THAT'S How serious the folks that build the vehicles are bout NOT usin E-15. RIDE SAFE.

they are pushing so that E15 will be the only fuel available. The American people will have zero choice to use anything else. They are ramming it down our throats and I believe in concert with the auto and motorcycle manufactures and oil companies. Why u ask?, if there isn't a fuel to run your vehicle on, u will have to buy a new one.  oil companies, E causes less mpg means people have to BUY more to go same distance. Oil companies actually have a big interest in the refineries for the E.  The E allows the oil companies to make a cheaper lower grade of gasoline BIG cost savings, and then add the E to boost the octane so the engines will run on the pre WWI grade gas they are making.

That user error and prob will still happen. Cant count the number of times someone put gas into our diesel ambulance. It can happen if you don't pay attention.

if u go back decades ago and read un agendas u will see this is all part of their plan to control the population, by restricting their free movement in a country. but wait the people are promised electric cars and uber.  sorry uber is not coming today and anyway will only allow u a 10 mile movement and not out of the boundries and your allowance of electricity only allows u to charge your car for a 10 mile round trip.

Being in the Marine industry I cannot begin to tell you the damage that alcohol extended fuels do to fuel systems.
What we throw in the landfills (fuel system components and soft parts) as a result of it I do believe far outweighs any benefits and that is just one aspect of it.
As usual the idiots in Washington cannot see past their wallets.

                      Been awhile but don't alcohol funny cars and other alcohol fueled race engines use stainless steel components in the fuel delivery system so they don't get eaten alive too soon? Turnin food into fuel don't make a lot of sense. Turnin the same food into somethin to drink on the other hand!  When Ross-da prez-and I went to Asheville in 14 we put some Pure gasoline in our Ladies. Performance and M P G both increased. Enough of our resident gear heads have had similar circumstances. What a surprise-NOT-gubmint WRONG again!  RIDE SAFE.
