Good Day All,

I'm new to the group! From Winnipeg, MB Canada. Just paid for a 1997 Valkyrie CT . I'll be picking her up this week. Dealer had to replace a couple things. She's got 47000 kms (29000 miles) on her. She's been well taken care of. No rust or corrosion that I can find so far with me exception of some bubbled chrome.
This is my first cruiser. Been on a GSXR 750 for the past decade. Definitely ready for some long road trips in comfort!

Sounds like a Valkyrie has adopted a new rider!  Welcome to the group.  If you like doing your own maintenance, need advice on Valkyries, enjoy lively political discussion and some things that have nothing at all to do with motorcycles, this is the place.

Welcome, Danny,

I'll tell you how good of a group of people this VRCC is. I don't even own a Valk anymore and they still let me play in the sandbox here.

Up near the top of the main page, you will find the Shoptalk section. There's lots of good info there. I recommend you browse that section a bit.

You're gonna love your Valk! Congrats!

Dennis, the part about "splodin" made me laugh. Hopefully, I'm out of the ordinance business. I'll leave that to DetN8r. I have really good tread on my F6b. The Bridgestone Driveguard I replaced the "splodid" tire is wearing really well. I have about 10k on it and it looks great. And I put a Battlax rear tire on my front. Got about 3500 miles on it and it looks like it was just put on.

And yep, I still have the B. It might just be my last bike. I still love it.

Hello and Welcome. A good start, signing up and posting. Hope to see you around, we need more blood from N of the 49th.

Get yourself the shop service manual also.
http://valkyrienorway.com/download.html

Tech section to figure things out, and get some advise, BEFORE you try to take it to a shop. With winter coming, I'm sure you'll have all the time you could ever need to go over it and get your bike in top condition by next spring.
