progressive air shocks

I have a 98 tour with progressive air shocks I weigh 195 my question is to anyone using these shocks what air pressure  are you running I have tried different settings and these are some rough riding shocks I have tried from 5 to 20 pounds of air thinking about going back to the stock shocks

Add more air, with two up loaded I ran 100lbs of pressure and they were marginal. Still occasionally bottomed out. Main reason I spent the extra cash and replaced with the Progressive 444 in 13" now my wife no longer complains about the ride especially after adding the Ultimate seats. It rides like I have always expected it should.

I have 416's and 444's and 412's.  The 416's are suitable only for solo riding IMHO.  You can increase the compression rate by adding more ATF fluid but even so it's a battle to keep the air seals from leaking. I rebuilt them several times.  Of course I ran too much pressure with onboard air.  For a solo rider, with onboard air, the ride can be very cushy when the preload is closely matched as it has a larger sweet spot then.  But rebound damping is an issue.

The 444 is a far better shock.  And costs a lot more. You also need to carefully pick the spring rate. They do have a huge range to pick from.

My "solo" (SuperValked) I/S has a set of Progressive air shocks fitted, with an onboard compressor and pressure readout. The compressor assembly, bleed valve and pressure sensor are mounted inside the fairing. There is no trunk on the bike at the moment.

When riding by myself (225lbs weight) I run ~45PSI as indicated by the gauge. I've had passengers of up to 150lbs on the back, and with the pressure set to 75PSI it rides fine with no bottoming.

My Tourer is going to get a set of Works Performance "I/S" shocks when I wear out the I/S OEMs which are currently installed on it.

thanks guys I will try more air the shocks where on the bike when I got it I don't know which one's they are I looked on them but all I saw was progressive
