had to pick up today at local expensive usually Honda dealership a speedo cable and screw for his 1997 honda magna, installed it tonight no problems.
Anyways, had time to kill so looked at all the used cycles at the normally high priced Honda/Indian/Victory/Polaris dealer. Lo and behold I saw my exact 2001 honda valkyrie I/S in black with less miles at 33K with some minor add ons. Asking price was ONLY 6K even which I thought was at least 1-2K low for that expensive dealership who thinks they own the market in the area. He says since so old and a cult following, it may sell quick or take forever to sell, even at 6K. Much to my surprise for sure.
Sat in a POlaris slingshot - NO thanks, too cramped side to side for my tastes even had a used 2016 to sell for around 16K with 2300 miles on it. He said give it 9 more months and those slingshots will be easily 12K tops since in 2018 new design coming out so the market will drop on them. Also had a few used 998cc and newer but still used near new 1030cc can am spyders. NO thanks on the older ones too much leaning forward and uncomfy, but if I had a smaller keester, the newer 1340cc would be more ergonomically correct and comfy. He said those 998cc spyders were noisy but those newer 1340cc are the BOMB, fast and better made overall.
Also had a used 2004 maroon red goldwing with 65K miles for a pricey 10K asking price which I thought was 2K more than it was worth.
AS usual, a sea of V-twins and that Arleen Ness fancy paint job Victory Cross Country was not bad but too firm a seat for my tastes, thus the 14K price tag as well - OUCH. I guess Victory still commands a high price tag even if going out of business?
Guy was nice NO high pressure sales since just came in to buy a speedo cable for a 20 year old Honda. He did comment that it is a HONDA, will run forever, and even commented if he had a VAlkyrie, he would never sell it either coming from a YOUNG kid.
