Brakeaway on an Interstate

Hi everyone, I'm new here as I just picked up a 1999 Valkyrie Interstate. So far I love it and other than having to put on a new rear tire and brakes, I'm starting to get it set up for how I like it. I want to put a Brakeaway throttle lock on it, but Brakeaway says they don't make one for the Interstate. I just don't understand why it is different than a Tourer or standard. Why would it not fit the Interstate? Has anyone else put one on an Interstate and if not what else have you used? I really want the quick release when I hit the brake as I almost crashed on my last bike when I panic stopped and the Vista cruise kept the throttle on.
Thanks for all the helpful tips. It's been great looking through the forum already. Really helped when I was changing the rear tire.

The throttle cables exit the switch box lower on the IS. Maybe that interferes with the part that connects to the brake pivot bolt.

really?
I am pretty damn sure that for the past 15 years I have had one on my interstate
Will look for the box when I get home
It is NOT a cruise control it is a throttle lock but you can adjust speed while locked however touching the brake or hitting the button will release the throttle

Thanks, I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work, but Brakeaway emailed back saying they didn't make one that would fit the IS. Maybe they just haven't tested it so they can't say for sure. Do you guys know what model number it was? I assume it's the same one for the Standard Valk.
