Alternator cover. They have increased in price dramatically. Especially for a piece of plastic. I think they went from $25 to $200 overnight. Congratulations on the bike

The alternator cover.
It's a Honda part. No aftermarket part that I know of.
They jacked the price way up on it.
Some were getting them from overseas for reasonable prices, but they all got bought up, and all the sellers figured it out and raised their prices.
A few guys on here bought multiples, maybe someone will sell you one.
As far as yours goes, it's not as bad as many have wrinkled by far (one of mine was WAY worse). You could live with it. Buy a new one. Some have peeled the chrome off and painted them.
Here's a current listing from ProCaliber: 21333-MZ0-000 COVER, ALTERNATOR $191.59

Maybe someone has one they would part with?Huh?
Most likely not. Those things wrinkle a lot. I peeled, sanded and painted one black and it looks okay. If you didn't know the piece was supposed to be chrome, you'd figure it was OEM painted.

Yeah I figure I am going to end up painting it....any tips to make the surface smooth as possible before painting? I was talking to a neighbor who rides as well....he said chrome plasti dip spray does a great job. he did some parts on his 56 Chevy and they look pretty good.....anyone have experience with it?

Not the chrome but have have plastidipped lots of things with good results. Warm your spray can up with hot water before you spray, first coat should be super thin. Second coat not as thin and so on. I normally do 5 coats with a 10 minute drying period between coats. Keep that can warm and shaken up for best results.

At first I was not impressed, some of the things I sprayed seemed to not hold it well, while other items did. Did the wheels on my Bobber ( I guess we're calling them Boobers now? ) and it's holding up very good there, while peeling on the headlight slightly. It seems to cure harder as time goes by. Beauty is, if it peels, take it all off and do it over.

Chrome plated plastic has and continues to have issues since it was introduced. My first exposure to chromed plastic was while I was driving 18 wheeler. Black A B S hardening glue/cement works well as a crack filler and sands up nicely for finish work. Depending on your taste you can paint it to blend in or stand out. On my I/S the triangular shaped openings in my wheels-front and rear-are painted a day glo green sort of. Whatever you go with-MAKE it yours. A LOT of prices on available parts for our Valkyries-the list gits shorter-have skyrocketed in the 7 years I've owned mine. U-joints come immediately to mind. My brother-da prez-had a goodly supply of good used parts. P M him and see if he has one available. NO/NONE/NADA promises from me-just a qualified Maybe. RIDE SAFE.

I had a spare, and cracked the wrinkled chrome and peeled it off. Most of it is now off, and I will end up painting it.
Someone did a nice job painting it black, and then the Honda red.
