Goodbye to all the folks here that have been a help and friends. I will still read the tech board but will no longer post in the general forum. And probably won't post there. Too much crap to put up with.  Adios mis amigos!

Hate to see you go but at least the facebook page seems to be a bit more motorcycle centered.

Maybe I just caught it at the wrong time. But when Joe put up a link encouraging people to check it out. I was shocked at the name calling back and forth. It was pretty vicious . Besides if I went to Facebook everybody would unfriend me.  Smiley

We see these kinds of posts every once in a while.  After thinking about it, I believe the OP just doesn't have any friends here.  Neither did all the other folks who felt the need to tell us they were leaving instead of just doing so.  If the OP had friends here, he'd stick around to communicate with them.  Instead, he feels the need to make a grandiose exit and blame it on the rest of us.

See ya.

I think he has plenty of friends here. I have never thought about leaving, but I see how easily one could. When you have several members who never have anything productive to add to any conversation, it pisses a lot of folks off. If it were my forum these people would get 1 warning then removed after the second offense. It is only 3 or 4 people that start this crap wanting to get a rise out of people. Best thing we all could do is ignore them and not give them the time of day.

If no one responds they won't  get their fix and will disappear. Kinda like a drug addict . You dont give them what they want, they leave. Yes i just compared Liberals to drug addicts.

It makes me sad but I might have to start doing that myself. There seems to be a wave of willful ignorance, and it's just getting to be too much lately. You can't use reason and logic against a fervent religious belief, and at this point the political stances of some have become more religious than logical.

I was talking on the phone the other day with a member that comes on the board very little because of all of the political BS.  Says he posts more on FB than here. In a way I dont blame him. I have gotten pulled into it myself, even posted a political question the other day. A few (that will go nameless) come on here just to start an argument. As far as I have seen they post very little if anything Valkyrie related. I am not advocating that we have a separate board for political stuff like was suggested many times before (Carl has enough to do monitoring this one). I'm just saying like Gavin did previously. Ignore them. BUT most of us have been pulled into the frea, myself and Gavin included.  We are not going to change their minds about the current administration nor are they going to change ours. All we are doing is driving members, old and new away from the board. Nuf said.

Those opposed to freedom of speech are the loudest now it seems. Let them speak, but don't retreat.
This is a general board and the freedom here is great. Let all speak, I'm not intimidated or offended.
Nationally, we now have a great President who is not afraid to stand for the constitution and freedom of speech. If the 1rst amendment fails, 2nd is next.
If you get tired of it, take a break. Have yourself some "recreation" and return soon.

I believe that there are some who come here to only stir B'S.

They aren't hard to spot, if you look at their posts as a whole it's easy to see that they NEVER contribute anything positive to the VRCC community.

I have made friends here.

Friends that I have shared some wind with and friends that I hope to share some wind with soon.

I enjoy spirited discussion almost as much as I enjoy distilled spirits.

There is no way that I will let those who come here to only stir B'S run me away.

I do sometimes have to temper my responses to them or I could easily get myself into trouble with the moderators.

I enjoy this forum much more than Facebook.

That is in part due to the RULES OF THE ROAD and our moderators.

We are a family here.

Facebook is just too MEAN for family.

Religion and politics. You can't win talking about either, it's a lost cause. Some forums don't allow either and for good reason.

How many times for so many of us do we just not respond or join in on a crap storm? One that has no ending.  Especially a subject that involves some here whom think they are never wrong. Just not worth the hassle! Do you bite your lip some?

I can't imagine of anything anyone could post that would keep me from coming here.

It is part of my daily routine.

Owning, riding and working on Valkyries is one of the joys of my life and this board has helped and guided me from it's inception.

I've gained friends from across the country and from over the pond because of it.

The diversity of opinions is partly what makes it great.

I for one will visit here, till either I pass, or it does.

I'm with G-Man here. If you want to leave, just do it. No need to announce it. When you announce it, it gives the appearance of wanting someone to beg you to stay.

Exactly

Why not just take a step back and breath and allow yourself to not get fully entangled in these conversations. Some like them, some don't but you can choose not to get involved. The fact that there is so much varied content here is a good thing it can keep more people happy. But as the old saying goes if you cant stand the heat stay out of the kitchen.
