The time has rolled around again to renew my drivers license. So I went to renew it and was surprised at the cost this time. When I looked at the printout, I was shocked to find that it is no longer a drivers license with a motorcycle endorsement. Now it is a drivers license and a motorcycle operators license combined in the one card. No big deal except the renewal fee for the motorcycle license is more than the regular drivers license and added to the regular renewal fee. Oh well, gotta have the license.

If they can't get more out of us from front end they'll take it from the back end. This year Pa. raised the state inspectors license renewal fees from free to 60.00 to 100.00,depending on which certs you have.
State insp. stickers went from 2.00 to 5.00 and now 7.00 bucks a piece. The worst part of all this is thanks to the safety of modern cars the IIHS has found the difference in safety related accidents between states with inspection and states without it to be insignificant.(I haven't seen the numbers for motorcycle or heavy trucks.) They went and used that found revenue to fund their own study to counter the IIHS and tell us how important they are. What a den of thieves!

Author Unknown Tax his land, tax his wage, Tax his bed in which he lays. Tax his tractor, tax his mule, Teach him taxes is the rule.
Tax his cow, tax his goat, Tax his pants, tax his coat. Tax his ties, tax his shirts, Tax his work, tax his dirt.
Tax his chew, tax his smoke, Teach him taxes are no joke. Tax his car, tax his grass, Tax the roads he must pass.
Tax his food, tax his drink, Tax him if he tries to think. Tax his sodas, tax his beers, If he cries, tax his tears.
Tax his bills, tax his gas, Tax his notes, tax his cash. Tax him good and let him know That after taxes, he has no dough.
If he hollers, tax him more, Tax him until he’s good and sore. Tax his coffin, tax his grave, Tax the sod in which he lays.
Put these words upon his tomb, "Taxes drove me to my doom!" And when he’s gone, we won’t relax, We’ll still be after the inheritance tax.

I'm setting up end of life "stuff" and Missouri saw fit to charge me $11.00 Per title to accomplish this. T O D-transfer on death. As I understand it here in Missouri T O D keeps it outa probate And outa my 2nd exs hands! My taxes on the vehicles and the license fees here seem to go down a bit more every year. BUT I am CERTAIN they Will stick it to me somewhere on down the line. RIDE SAFE.

Word of advice - if there is even a REMOTE chance of you go flying commercially, or enter a federal building / military base - go ahead and get the "RealID" version. By Oct1 2020 - it will be a requirement. I just had a duplicate for mine done due to wear, but I was considering the RealID. I decided to wait until next year when It's time for renewal.

I don't know if you're talking to me, but my sister (who is a Driver's License Examiner for the state of Kansas) went over this in great detail last night while she was visiting.... I would imagine other states will be the same, since RealID is a Federal requirement.

I think mine with an "E" rating was $45.00. The "E" rating is equal to a passport for Canada and New Mexico.
