Probably too late now for most of us, but I just read where Aug 27, 2017 is the last day to purchase a lifetime park pass for $10. Purchase @ any National Park with ID, goes up to $80 after that. HT

This is also only for those over 62...

For us youngen's it's $80 per year. I bought one on my way to Inzane and it STILL was a better deal than paying for all the parks/monuments/etc we visited...

Also - If you meet the age requirements you can purchase it online today, but better move quick:

Can't get a better deal anywhere, the only problem is, it's not good at all National Parks.

Please explain this statement. I understood it was.

Some, Mt. Rushmore specifically, the park entrance is free, but the parking lot is privately owned, and you've gotta pay up, doesn't accept a pass... Sad

I got one 2,years ago but I don't have a national Park in
my back yard. My heart is crap so I maybe only saved a couple of bucks. So I guess i!m saying its not the end of the line.

That pass will reduce the cost of USFS/BLM campgrounds.   Have use it more than many times.  Doesn't help in State/county campgrounds.   Glad I got mine some 9 years ago.  Has saved me some money and hassles in getting into National Parks.

Serk is correct on his explanation of what I said about the pass. One good thing about it, if you enter a Nat'l park as a group, i.e. as a motor cycle group or group of cars, they will let everyone in that group in on one pass. It will matter not what the ages are if one senior has his or her pass. Experienced this entering Big Bend National Park on several occasions.
