1997 valk carb cleaning needle jet ?

hi, have my carbs torn down and the needle jet is pressed into the body ,should i be able to run a small wire through this ,seems blocked . also how important is the air cut off valve located on the side of each carb ,as i would have to split up the carb rails ,didnt want to tear them down that far.

Be careful running any thing solid through jets, they are easily scored.
Carb cleaner and compressed air should work fine, just don't get any cleaner on the diaphragms.
If you have the needles out of the slides could you let me know the number that is on them?

Do you have some issue with them?  They cut of air to help prevent decel popping.

I've never had to replace one yet.

A soft tag wire sometimes is helpful. Get the varnish softened up by soaking, if plugged gently clean with that soft wire. Flush, repeat and compressed air. Some have expressed luck using "Krud Kutter" from TSC and other hardware stores like Koopmans.

no issue,didnt know if they should be inspected while carbs are off and apart

B12 carb cleaner is 90 percent acetone.Research acetone as a carb cleaner.

Thanks, standard needles for a 97. They are marginally richer than the later needles.
