The best one I've ever been on in spite of the rain.Actually The Southern Group only had maybe 40 miles of rain if that . Outstanding group of riders . Years pass this ride has left a bad taste in my mouth with folks going down and getting hurt and last year no crashes but it just sucked. I take some blame for the cluster F that was Meet In The Middle 2016 thinking I could lead that many bikes across The Great Smoky Mountains and The Blue Ridge Parkway and get everyone to Sparta , NC at the same time. Those days are over and the new arrangement of this ride just made my ride so much more pleasurable. Check hubcaps post out he covered it well so I'm not doing a repeat of the ride only adding a few pictures... The lady at the motel told us she had 14 cancellations and 4 no-shows from our group . All I can say is y'all let a little rain knock you out of a awesome get-to-gether.... See everyone in Sparta next year for Meet In The Middle 2018 .

Glad to hear your ride up this year was much better than last year.  We were one of the cancellations.  Sometimes I'm just not willing to take the risk with the love of my life on the back of my bike.  We have reservations again for the 2018 ride.  We are going on the DRU ride next weekend.  1st time we have been able to fit the ride in.  Hope to see you there.
