Today is the anniversary of one of our worst days, please take a moment to remember those lives lost on 9/11 and those lost seeking justice for that act of terrorism.

Ya' just beat me to posting it.
I was riding my Valk to work, listening to AM news radio as I always did back then for traffic reports, hearing the news... That was the saddest, most surreal bike ride I've ever taken.

I haven't forgotten and I PRAY I never do. Far too many landmark events in my lifetime-some good some bad-all earmarked now as history. RIDE SAFE.

I also remember it being a very surreal day ... my mind was on stopping off at the burial site of my brother who had died in a bicycling accident that same morning one year prior, for a planned tribute , when I heard the news on the radio. Later when I went to my office and watched on the news, I just remember feeling that all the footage we'd seen of this kind of stuff from around the world that always seemed so distant, had actually hit "home". Sadness, disbelief, anger, and uncertainty were emotions I still remember vividly, along with a sense of compassion for our friends to the South in general. I also remember a short time later my first business flight after that day , sitting in the waiting area prior to boarding...for the first time feeling nervous, and looking around studying all the other passengers....again a very surreal type of day. As it was this morning when I awoke, one of the first things I do is remember my brother, and also that horrible event and how many people were senslessly affected for the rest of their lives and also the bravery shown by many. I think it's important to remember the bad along with the good.

It was a surreal day for me also. I had moved here in June of 2001 and left my wife and family back in Alaska to sell our house. As I remember the day, customers were coming in and commenting about a plane running into a building in NYC. It wasn't until the second plane that customers put it together that it was intentional. It sucked not getting accurate news about it until I got off work and could watch the news. It was very stressful for my wife being separated up there.

I was working 3rd shift. Came home and was asleep by 7:15. Knew nothing until that afternoon. I was in total disbelief for a minute. I will, we should never forget. It should be required every anniversary that everyone watch the people jumping from the buildings. Brings tears to my eyes typing this. God bless our President, his cabinet and God bless the USA......

Kinda like the JFK assassination, everyone knows where and what they were doing that beautiful Tuesday morning.
I got caught up in it while flying folks to Boston. The first plane was hijacked over the southern Adirondacks and flew over me/us after it made the SE turn to NYC.

I don't know. The Alamo seems pretty miniscule and insignifacant in the scheme of things. As far as significant threats to our country that should be remembered, I would put them in this order: 1) The Civil War 2) Pearl Harbor 3) 9/11 Terrorist attack

As a Texan that considers you a friend, I will forgive you that transgression. Once.

Honestly I don't recall "Remember the Civil War" being a regular cry of any particular group.
We did, many of us, commit to not forgetting what happened on 09/11 but in many cases we seem to have forgotten who hates us and why.

I'm in Newark right now for training, be here for two weeks. We drove down last night, you could see the two huge spotlights at Ground Zero shining skyward for miles. A clear view of the Freedom Tower from my hotel.
A day I'll never forget.....
