Sometimes ya just gotta go...

Winter Springs, FL - Occasionally...

« on: September 17, 2017, 11:59:48 AM »

No matter what I do or how hard I try, I just don't seem able to get around it much of the time. Nope, this planning necessity thing just keeps rearing its ugly head and forcing me into a box. It's enough to drive a person to distraction, I tell ya!

Here I sit with stuff cropping up on my calendar forcing me to schedule things and make 'arrangements' and such like... What else is a body to do...? Oh well, I'm biting the bullet, so to speak, and I'm swallowing my pride, and... I'm doing what needs to be done. Dang it!!!

For me, that malady usually pops up every time I decide to venture out yonder... especially if I'm heading out ahead of time for something that's important to me, but too early to just go directly there. Naturally, if others are also involved the need to coordinate and such becomes an absolute necessity due to life being complicated and all... just like right now, for example.

I'm wanting to hook-up with my 'brother' and kindred spirit Landelephant later this week... but I don't want to wait until a more appropriate day to actually depart 'Irma's Bullseye'... I actually wanted to leave yesterday!

Naturally, I can no longer leave yesterday. Nope, politeness and a couple of necessary chores prevented that, but tomorrow is filled with boo-koos of promise! I'm chomping at the bit, and ALI is pleading like she hasn't been out in more than a fortnight... Something just has to give here...

After Charlie and I do our thing, assuming we actually do, then I'm committed to venture down to southwestern Louisiana a week or two later to witness the exchange of vows and other nuptial rituals between my good friend JP (aka: Hard6, Jerry, Uncle Jerry) and his intended, Bobbie...

While that sort of thing usually gives me hay-fever, and I normally avoid such unpleasantness altogether not wanting to take the risk of it being contagious... I have committed to be there...

And, since that date is rather firm, I know they won't just sit around and wait until I might some day just drift in, all of which therefore means I'm going to have to do just enough planning to make sure I'm there... on time! WOW! I'm getting plum jittery just thinking about it all!

Assuming I manage to escape that ceremony without any marital status change of my own, I'll be wandering towards the Fall Color Ride in Robbinsville, NC... Of course, I'm going to have to nail down just exactly which weekend that is going to be held, but I could always, I suppose, just go and hang out for a couple of weeks... nah!

In the meantime, I've made a phone call and arranged to make a stop on my way to my (possibly) first commitment... A chance to visit with some very good and dear friends in Montgomery, AL, and environs, and maybe consume an adult beverage or two in the process...

This is always an easy call to make, because I do enjoy dropping by there and spending a night or two! BUT, because that will involve others, some semblance of a plan must be formulated and a wee bit of coordination undertaken... I've already taken the first step, however, by placing an important call... Now, I need to pack my bag for an extended road trip...

I don't particularly enjoy the preparation phase of an outing, and especially I don't if it also involves any planning and coordination... Still, I couldn't do it the way it needs to be done otherwise, so...

I'll just keep a good thought about how it will be once I get my knees back in the breeze, some bugs in my teeth, and ALI purring sweetly between my legs... early tomorrow morning!!!

You must have done a lot of things right in your life to afford you the freedom you enjoy. Maybe it's just knowing what you want and going for it.

Yeah, you old softie, we all know what you mean. Wink Attending Hard6's wedding took me by surprise, wasn't aware things had taken such a turn. Obviously I haven't seen him in a few years. Enjoy your time there and send our best wishes.  cooldude
