So I bought a tail light Sherry picked out for her bike. It is a re-do of a 30s Lincoln teardrop in LED, it was quite dear and I can see why now that it has arrived and I can see this is really nice high metal quality!!!  :cooldude:  This light is made for cars as well and because it is, it has an extra wire for the blinker, should I use this along with the blinker right and blinker left - SO  it would blink right and middle or it would blink Left and middle or not use it at all?????

Firefight100

At most it should have 3 wires.  Ground, run and stop.  Are you saying it has 4 wires?

_Sheffjs_

Yes, remember it is made for a antique car, on the car you use it as either right or left. SO it has Ground, one blinker, one run and one brake.

I would run as brake lite only. Confusing if it blinks to one side and not the other. JMHO, YMV. :cooldude:

I agree brake light only.  :cooldude:

Yep what they said.  I had a license frame that had turn signals on it as well as stop lights.  Iris never liked it when she was riding behind me, said it was confusing.

I had the same choice.  I did not wire in the centered tail light signal circuit. The new led signals were plenty bright enough.  I did have both run and brake brake in the tail light, but not a signal in the tail light too.  Just too busy.

Obviously not an original design if it is wired for turn signals.  ;)  I agree with the others, leave the blinker wire unattached, wouldn't serve any real purpose unless you have two of them. Just wire it for run/brake.

I figured this would be the response, ok point taken.

Now apart from that, I do not think some understand fully, these are made for a car so it is usually sold in two's. I'm glad they offer just one for us Motorcycle nuts. It is really impressive in looks and quality.  I will simply nip off that wire and heat shrink it.

Can you post a pic ? I'm curious what they look like.  :)

Sure, it is in the dry fit state, before the painter get's it. The entire frame is nice metal, heavy duty product cost $75

:cooldude: looks good. Those might look good on my bags.

And there you could use the extra wire, and have turn signals as well.

I came close to using something like those a while back (different bike).  I did not want three holes in my bags (two mounts, and a wire hole between).  I wanted only a wire hole, and to flush mount them using 3M double sided tape only (so the light has to have a solid back for the tape).   That tape is pretty strong, but I was worried it's weight might cause it to come loose over time.  Didn't do it, though it might have worked fine.

I didn't want to drill each bag three times, and I didn't want that many screw threads tearing things up inside the bags. I figured to make as tiny a hole as possible for the electrical wire, then tape it down inside the bag.  Of course, there has to be another wire hole where it exits the bag to the harness (on the inside), but that might be done by slightly enlarging an existing bag mount hole.

I could not drill into Honda bags, I could on aftermarket.

I agree with everyone else.  Brake light only.  It's a classic looking light.  Glad to see you are giving the bike a personal touch, making it your own.
