My dog chewed up my gopro a month or so ago...

I finally ordered another one, a session4, it came yesterday.

I took pictures on the way to work, it seems to have crappy
picture quality, but maybe it is the whacky video card in my
computer at work - I took out the good NVIDIA one (closed source
design, clumsy to use with Linux) and put in some cheapo cast
off one.

Please let me know if you think the pictures are poor quality.

We had a lot of Irma damage, some big cleanup I had to hire
out, but there's plenty of Mike-sized stuff to cleanup, and it is
not all done yet... this tree kept me from leaving the house
until I cut enough of it away...

I'm glad this nice copse of hackberry came through unscathed, an ice
storm busted off a big piece a couple of years ago...

The corn here was over my head this summer  cooldude

Man, I'd hate to lose a nice tree like this, thanks Irma...

My ride to work is awesome, I love this network of farm roads. I pay for it
by having to use I85 from exit 11 to exit 14 so that I can cross the bridge
on Lake Hartwell...

Again... please let me know what you think of the picture quality. I'll grind through
the configuration of the camera more later. This is a "session 4" if you know anything
about them... the forum resizes pictures, you can "right click" and hit "view image" to
see them full size.

Are you using the GoPro app on your phone to control the camera ?

 Smiley

I have a flip phone.

Carolyn has a "real phone", we downloaded the app this morning.
we'll fiddle with it more later, the app is how you keep the camera's
firmware updated, that might help.

It was easy, using the little buttons on the gopro, to set it to "a picture
every 5 seconds" which is how I like to use it.

The camera uses a "exfat" filesystem, so I had to do some whacky stuff
to mount the micro sd card on my Linux computer...

I have an 3s iPhone which evidently is too old to get the app. I couldn't figure out how to set up the camera to take pics at a set interval. I'll have to try again.

Computer/phone/camera/app ignorant.

Pictures look OK to me.

Wouldn't being moving all the time be detrimental to clarity of all pictures?

I suppose a nano-second shutter speed would help... whatever that is.

To me, on this computer at work, they look "artifacty"... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_artifact

not blurry, so much...

The crown of the hackberry tree looks like it was painted by Van Gogh...
