My Valk is wearing out. Over 100K problem free isn't too bad but a problem has risen. A chirping noise when I release the clutch. It started maybe 200 miles ago and is getting worse. As you increase speed the noise increases in speed also. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated. Best way to describe the noise would be like a turkey call chirp.

I have been chasing a similar sound for two years now. It started right around the 100,000 Mile Mark as well. As we speak the bike is on the lift, clutch removed. The clutch looks fine to me, as does the area of the motor where it resides. No tell tale marks or scratches, no missing rivets, or remnants of rivets. We long ago eliminate do the rear end as the culprit, although I am contemplating revisiting that area. Not sure where to turn next.

Mine chirped like that at around 50k,some one on the board said try greasing the pin in the  clutch slave.
It worked I haven't heard a peep in 70k miles.

If you think your Valkyrie is wearing out at the 100k mark, you need to take a look at the "High mileage Valkyrie" thread. Stuff will need replacing or repairing, doesn't mean the bike is wearing out.

Can't locate?  I guess you didn't try putting"high mileage Valkyrie" in the search feature. Comes right up.

Next time you use the search button. Back out to the General page or Home. Then do the search from there. I've found if you are on the General board or Tech Board or a thread, it just searches within that area.  :cooldude:

I didn't mean to be rude. But so many say they search and can't find just to get someone else to do it for them.  That probably wasn't what you were thinking but it does happen often on boards.  This board is helpful in many many ways. You should get a little more familiar with how it works. If you used search correctly the thread you wanted would have been the number one result.

Last time mine chirped was just before the u joint went kaput.
