Got a few friends from out of state staying in my hometown Thursday evening to ride up with all my local friends on Friday. Anyone wanting to join us we'll have a nice backroads ride through the woods . No I will be at my Buddys cabin in Bryson City What time do u guy's leave the hotel for the rides? Best to show up at the motel around 9:00 ish ( We get breakfast at McD'S in Robbinsville 9:30 / 10:00 also a Huddle House in town) .... I'll have a group going with me however you can hook up with others and go where the wind takes you lots of great riding no matter the direction. The best part of this ride is hangin' out with friends by the fire at night enjoying a few adult beverage's and conversation unfortunately for you , you will miss that part I wouldn't recommend a flatlander be on these mountain roads at night. |

Hoping to Roger I can get my wife to swing by the motel and pick folks up that way if you would like a adult beverage at the steakhouse you will not have to get back on the bike. Should have a nice little group riding to Robbinsville on Friday morning. |

Didn't plan on running the roads at night, but I have, in fog and downpour rain. I have ridden all over the country riding for close to 40 yrs, only a flatlander because of where I live now. Been all over those roads many times, I was looking forward to riding with you, but if u have your click your riding with, then I will just ride with my Buddy. Maybe I will see ya on the road, I'll wave as I go by ya  |

Trust me on this after the ride from hell 2016 " Meet In The Middle " I could give a rats ass who you ride with. That being said this is year 10 for this ride and I do plan a totally different ride this year and you are more than welcome to join me . Or join the others that will go where they want to go. We've been there done that on this ride I'm changing it up this year " The Devils Triangle " .

Well this went to crap real quick, U don't know me, so to call me sensitive is pretty funny. I have real thick skin, I never said I was super biker, but I have ridden pretty much all the roads up in that area. I know your style of ridding and when our group is up there we ride the same way. Just figured I would ride along with ya and meet some new people I didn't get to meet at inzane in West VA. I am very aware that the roads there can kill ya, as almost any road will when u push it past your ability. So I will leave it at that, not looking to have a pissing match, just want to ride. |

Got a Big Ole Country Boy on a Beemer coming with me. He is a seasoned rider as well and he has a Cabin up there, so he rides those roads a lot as well. We are probably 25 miles from ya in Bryson City, so if we ride with ya, will make sure to be there for breakfast with u all.

Got a Big Ole Country Boy on a Beemer coming with me. He is a seasoned rider as well and he has a Cabin up there, so he rides those roads a lot as well. We are probably 25 miles from ya in Bryson City, so if we ride with ya, will make sure to be there for breakfast with u all. If you don't make breakfast you should swing by late Friday evening to meet folks.. Saturday everyone gets scattered out and get back to the motel at different times. |

Dang, that's a long ride... I hope you're taking two days... I came back from Lewisburg this weekend, and didn't touch I-77 or I-81. I came down 219 to 460 and stayed on 460 all the way to Claypool Hill, then used some pig trails and popped out at Kingsport. I-26 through Johnson City is easy, and over the mountain to Asheville is a great ride. But south of Asheville on I-26 blows chunks, it was a parking lot for 20+ miles in both directions on Friday and on Sunday... I-40 and I-26 merge south of Asheville, so it has always been kind of bad, but it is really bad now... -Mike |
