Series is tied.  Last home game for the team with the best home game record.  Then 1 or 2 games in Houston where they could really use some uplifting excitement.

This is when baseball finally becomes interesting.

And they ALL lined up along the base paths, stood proud and tall regardless of age, color, salary, ____preference, etc.  America's game!

I normally don't like the Yankees but they are American League, Gary is strongly for them and Baldo is against them.  It looks like I may be driven to support the New York Yankees.   Smiley

The Yankees have had their fun.  Time for the Astros to finish this and get ready to play the Dodgers. cooldude

Not at all.  When two folks disagree so completely and so consistently one may use that to diminish the need to more intensely consider a choice.   Wink

Got to go with the Astro's, especially after they acquired the Tiger's Justin Verlander.  Astros have never won a world series and the Yankees have owned it.

BOO on the Yankees!!!

Go ASTROS!!!

(I do like the old "anthem" picture)

They bound to have cheated somehow!
Deflated the baseballs, used pinetar, lead filled bats, something...

And before this gets outta hand, I'm  just pulling Yankees fans leg!
Although I didn't like the outcome, gotta give it to the Yankees.

for years I wore a # 1 forever yankee shirt (that was Billy Martin's #)

He was a scrappy small fella like me as a kid in the Bronx
(hard to believe I was ever 5' tall and skinny as a rail)

Funny how once you get much over 6' and 200 lbs people start acting nicer isnt it

But Billy was an asshole plain and simple. drunk all the time with Mantle but his baseball knowledge was top shelf for sure

Hope they bring home the goods but these days I dont pay attention to the stats or even who is on the team.  Never forgave em for the strike.

Every team wanted Martin to coach them, until he did.  I sure remember his times with my Tigers.  How many times did Steinbrener hire him back?  I think sometimes he fired him in the morning and hired him back in the afternoon.

Here is one for you from back before the strike OSS.  Back in the 70s I read a lot of sports books, mostly baseball ( as that was my passion and I did well with the sport ) and the funniest of all - by far - was  "Joe, You Could Have Made Us Proud" by Joe Pepitone.  Man what an eye opener it was. He had so many great stories of Mickey Mantle and other highly recognizable people.  I just found out it is being re released.  Rolling Stone did a review of it that I will not post as even the review is to explicit, but for a Yankee Fan over 50 that remembers, it will take one back to the time.

I read JOe Pepitones book when it came out in 1974 still one of the best sports book ever written.  Lots of wild stories Pepitone was a real playboy man that guy had the women.
