I'd shoot everyone I could. A couple got my Jack Russell a few years back. He was the best, smartest dog I've ever had.

A couple came snooping around when I lived in Cave Creek and had Huskies. They didn't come back after the Huskies introduced themselves.

I swear I hear coyotes very close to me like 100 yards or less yelping at night in a pack close to my house. Sort of eerie when they all get going and do not stop for like over 30 minutes or more until I fall back asleep. Loud enough to wake me up if the windows are open and I am a very sound sleeper.
Too bad I live in a small town and not the country or I would shine the flashlight on them and pluck them at night. We have a few coyote hunters in town I know so maybe by now they got them?
I did just this past spring see a mangy looking what was left of a red (maybe gray-was ugly and thin?) fox scared the crap outta me was in my backyard by burning barrel and was walking out to burn papers we both met about 10 yards apart and the darn thing look rabbid/sick and never ran away just staring me down. I walked slowly back into my garage, got my .22, but by then he had left. Not sure a mangy fox would attack a human, but it looked sick.

They go off down at the creek pretty regular around here. The folks on the other side of the creek run cows, sometimes they have some donkeys in with the cows, the donkeys make even more noise than the coyotes when they think something is prowling around.
One night the coyotes started going, and I stepped out on the back porch to listen. BOOM! silence. I guess the cow-guy was down there waiting for the coyotes...

We have a pack in our back area down by a creek--heavily wooded. When a siren is heard going down the main road two blocks away, the whole pack goes nuts. We see them occasionally, but where I live you could not safely discharge a fire arm, well maybe something like a .410, but not a .22. Eerie when they all start singing.

Just because you do not hear them does not mean they are not there.

we have them almost every night in a pack going off not too far from our house. I have been stalked by coyotes early in the morning walking to the deer stand. they decided that 6 of them would not be enough to take me out. Plus the several rounds of 40 i sent their direction probably helped.

I hunt em and kill every one I can, even when deer hunting. I will give up a shot at a nice buck just to kill every one of those rat bastards.

Was at Cabela's yesterday. They have a nice infrared night scope in the case. I said, what's that for, night security? Night hunting's illegal. He said varmints can be shot at night. Hmm. You could put that on an AR and a good suppressor so as not to alarm the neighbors then set up in a stand if you had a coyote problem. We get them howling around here but you rarely see them. Howling's at night and so is most of their movement. I'm thinking if the HPA passes and gets suppressors off the NFA, the hassle to buy them will be eliminated and in short order their prices will also get closer to their manufacture cost as they become more common. Also I'm thinkin there will be more plans to machine them yourself. You can do that now legally, but still have to apply for the NFA tax. I plan to wait and see on that.

Add a scorpion
Speaking of scorpions, we have them here in Florida. Fifty odd years ago when the Cape was going big guns in the space program, I was a field rep for a company that provided the various contractors with microfiche/film equipment....readers, printers, etc. I was working on one machine at JPL (Jet Prop. Lab), had my hand deep inside doing some cleaning & preventive maintenance. Felt something move on my wrist and slowly pulled it out. There he was, tail snapping back and forth hitting my watch band while he was sitting on the watch face. The sec'y. saw it and while I held still she dispatched him, then told me to go rinse off my watch band real good and handed me some type of cleaner. Later told me they had a real problem with them ever since they moved into that bldg., and if I hadn't cleaned the watch band the stuff he was hitting it with would cause major irritation to the skin, especially if I started to sweat. After that, I always checked real close before opening up that machine.
