I had 1 message deleted from the discussion "What is your opinion on congress woman Wilson".

It is not the first time and I generally don't mind but this one is different.

AFAICT, the message didn't violated the 'Rules of the road' guidelines, as:
a) I neither attacked anyone in the forum.
b) harassed or threatened any participant.
c) did any sexually slur, etc.

To quote the Rules of the road: "Other than that; *passionate*, opinionated debates and even arguments are what makes this forum worthwhile. If it's on your mind, then let it fly, just be cool about it, and don't say anything that you wouldn't say face to face. We are all friends here, and we should treat each other as such. "

Following the rules, I *did* expressed my opinion on the President, quoting Rex Tillerson: "He is a moron."

So a few points:
a) If someone was so deeply offended by my comment, feel free to contact me. I would rather address it than have the post deleted. Asking the moderator to delete the comment is backhanded at very best.

b) Assuming that the moderators somehow thought that you should never say anything negative about the current President, I suggest that you append the rules of the road with it e.g. 'never say anything bad about Trump'.

At least it will keep things honest and I can follow the rules if they are written.

Savago
ps: In case this is deleted, I can assume that this forum moderators won't allow anyone to ever say anything negative on Trump (which is good because at very least I will have confirmation).

Interesting.  According to this thread, http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,97391.msg968168.html#msg968168  it is still perfectly okay to criticize politicians.  Although I read it differently I was told in no uncertain I was too stupid to understand what the OP had said and it was fine to lambast politicians, just not other members.  So like you I don't understand why your comment was deleted. Perhaps another moderator did it. I have no idea how many this place has. Certainly Trump is a moron, an embarrassment to our country and worse, a dangerous psychopath with deep emotional problems totally unfit for the job.

Following the rules of the road, the preceding post should be deleted.   Personally, I am not a real fan of President Trump but, he was the better choice of the options we had.  Though, not my first choice, he is so much better than the liar, cheat, thief and traitor the Dems put up.   Thankfully, HRC didn’t win and holds no office.   Yet, she still has found ways to capitalize off of her loss and make money......
It’s this Clinton way.

Maybe this posting will also qualify to be deleted.   If so, so be it.   Smiley

Savago, even if technically not a direct violation posts that just stirr the pot so to speak are not helpful.  I'm glad the staff gets rid of some if them.

You have an additional handicap, you live in California where the media is at it's worst towards this President.

For example , the Secretary is on record denying he said that about the president, but Im Sure that was so briefly covered where you are you may not have seen it.

I didn't even read your post because I didn't want to be tempted to say something ugly about that woman, so that tells you something about how I feel.

Move on, get over it

My suggestion would be to remember that this is not a democracy. We are all guests here in someone elses house. The rules are stated for us to abide by while we visit said house. None of us are entitled to be allowed into this house and yet we are welcomed as visitors as long as we follow the rules.

If you don't like the rules, don't come in to the house. Pretty simple really.  cooldude

Would you provide a link to that ? I sure haven't seen that. All I've seen is, he said he wasn't going to get into that.

It is not a democracy, it is a private club. I think what Savago is asking for the Rules of the Road to be equally enforced. I'm not sure if its possible being that every person brings their own bias to the game.

The post was deleted because it referred to the President of the United States by a demeaning name.  For those of you (Hacked Valk) that think I'm one sided with that I have also deleted posts that have referred to Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama by demeaning pet names.

... I was told in no uncertain I was too stupid to understand what the OP had said and it was fine to lambast politicians, just not other members.  ...

What was said was that you need work on your reading comprehension, not that you were too stupid.  Once again you have demonstrated that you need work on your reading comprehension.

Gavin did the work for you. You can thank him.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Sunday again declined to clearly say he hadn't called President Donald Trump “a moron,” but he did deny a Republican senator's claim that he had been castrated as the nation's top diplomat.

If that is the case, make the post 'Fair warning regarding disrespectful posting' fixed in the top, but I call attention to what you wrote:
"I have over the past few months interpreted demeaning pet names for the President as disrespectful conversation.  Honestly such demeaning reference to any public figure who was or is known to be supported by some of our members is by nature disrespectful."

'Any public figure' is quite broad.

Does it apply to only the President? Or all elected politicians? Artists?

Is it subjective and depends on political affiliation? Country of origin?

Will this be retroactively enforced? (I hope not or a major percentage of messages in this forum will have to be deleted).

I'm all about following rules, but they have to be clear and not subjective.

It means what it said.

It will not be retroactively enforced.

You dropped the qualification.  It is broad but not so much as you represented.

Respectful communication is not difficult.

You and I would have to agree to disagree on the final statement.  On the statement prior to that one I would have to call bullshit.

I don't care if one of mine is deleted(and they have been). Just the act of typing it out often times is enough of letting off steam....so to speak. Over the years, there's been a few characters on here that disagreed with just about everybody, regardless of the subject matter. If you said the sky was blue, that person were say it's green just to stir the pot. There have been a few times that I've actually written a personal note via email in an effort to find out why they were so contrary. In some cases it enlightened me, others they told me where to go(which I don't plan to visit)....I guess you could also say that enlightened me to a different degree.  Grin

What he actually declined to do was to answer their question because ( more or less) he said it was unimportant and a distraction.  Same thing as when someone says I can neither affirm or deny.  He wasn't playing their game and I took it as he didn't say it because that would be something and he said its not worth spending time on it as there was nothing there.

Either way he's  a class act and a fine Secretary.  And Trump is doing a fantastic job of making America great again.

I guess there are a bunch of people that just cant stand that so they have to dig for anything they can throw against the wall until something sticks, no matter how stupid it is.

No joke Pappy.  Obama wasn't a perfect President but compared to Trump, he and every other person to hold the office were outstanding.  I am confident that Trump will be viewed by history as the worst and most devisive president in history.  i disliked George Bush as president but at least he is a decent, caring and personable person. Trump is simply a self centered narcissistic egomaniacal person ignorant of history with few if any leadership qualities.  In all due respect of course.
I agree with Savago. If this sudden demand for respectfulness were retroactive, half the posts in the General category would be gone.  I can devine only one reason for this sudden 180 degree flip for respect.

There are other possible reasons for not denying he said that. One being there were 7 witnesses that heard him say it. I don't deny he is a fine person. I don't deny he is doing his level best for what he feels is best for the country.

I called my last boss a moron straight to his face. He told me I was fired but had to get permission from the owner first. The owner agreed with me that he was a moron but probably shouldn't say it to his face. I agreed to only tell him ( the owner) that my boss was a moron. Several weeks later my boss was looking for a new job.

I also took that article to mean he did not say itand it is a waste of time to even debate. Who cares at this point. Just another lame excuse for you liberals to use to hate Trump. I did not hate Obama, I hated his politics. There were several times I thought hey, he might not be so bad, then he instantly turned the tables to prove me wrong. Pretty sure Obama will hold worst president in history for many many years. You think Trump wants to take that away from him?

I like Trump, I think everything he does is for the country and not for himself like most of the others in politics. I think his ideals are solid but he has the press against him along with most in Washington. I understand what he says and why he says it. Certainly no "moron", very intelligent I'd say!

And Obama wasn't? Seriously? The man was a legend in his own mind, devoid of any experience and surrounded himself with people of similar ilk and questionable principles. I taught a class of 9th graders a number of years ago that had more business experience than he had and a heck of a lot more common sense.

While I don't pretend to understand, I can sympathize.   Had similar feelings while Obama was in office.   The pendulum will swing the other way eventually, it always does.    Hopefully, that'll be long after (yet to be elected) President Pence has served two terms.   Wink

Hopefully the future will be better than the past. A quick search of our forum turned up :

11 pages of Obummer references
6 pages of Hildabeast references
3 pages of liberals references
1 post of Conservatards references
Undetermined amount of posts for the terms Orange Man, and other derogatory posts for Trump. (I couldn't break them down very easily) not very many though.
And this isn't counting all the references to Obama as a POS, Zero, pictures of dogs crapping on Obama pics, etc.

Suffice it to say our track record leans towards the anti-left. I do appreciate the change towards removing this bias though.  cooldude

I don't see it as removing a bias, only as protecting a favored opinion against questioning.  A kind of censorship.  Some people can dish it out but can't take it.  And thanks for those statistics.  I lurked here before joining and am surprised there wasn't more.

There is no doubt about that. But there were years where every day those terms were bandied about with relish. Many people didn't feel welcome at all. Many still aren't welcome, but at least it's not so in your face now.

I don't see it as removing a bias, only as protecting a favored opinion against questioning.  A kind of censorship.  Some people can dish it out but can't take it.  And thanks for those statistics.  I lurked here before joining and am surprised there wasn't more.

Once again, you are a visitor in the administrator's house. If you don't like they way they conduct going ons in their said house you are free to leave. Quit bitching about it and either leave or play nice. Everyone knows this is a right leaning forum. I'm sure you can find yourself a nice left leaning forum to participate in. But like many before you, you come here to bitch and moan and try to screw up our nice club with your left leaning antics and go nowhere narratives. Maybe the club is a little bias. So what, you knew that when you signed up and you still joined the group. Now you want to bitch and moan because we won't change just for you. Typical liberal

It's exactly this attitude that enriches our club beyond belief. I'm surprised we aren't a million strong by now.

The post was deleted because it referred to the President of the United States by a demeaning name.  For those of you (Hacked Valk) that think I'm one sided with that I have also deleted posts that have referred to Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama by demeaning pet names.

I do appreciate the change towards removing this bias though.  cooldude

It's interesting, mhead, that you took the time to do the searches.  The results are fairly meaningless, though.  I have already told you and others that I did not "retroactively" apply, that is I did not remove old posts.

We do have a link, "Report to Moderator", allowing anyone to point out a post he feels is inappropriate.  I cannot recall even once that you or others bothered to report these posts you found in your search.  Having not done so takes some of the sincerity out of your bitching now.

You have a choice to make.  You can be part of the problem or part of the solution.  Quite honestly I'm getting weary of dealing with parts of the problem.

I'm sorry you feel I'm part of the problem. The search was pretty quick. I guessed you also misunderstand my sentiment, I'm glad that you are instituting this policy. It was meant as a hopeful way forward.

This stuff got so bad at a Ural forum I belonged to, politics and religion were banned. Much like the VFW started enforcing a long standing rule during the Obama administration. I guess there is always FaceBook.... Roll Eyes

Just a few words from a Conservative Canadian (OMG...get out the torches and pitchforks you echo chamber dwelling liberals  Cry)
Let's start with my own country..... while Stephen Harper was Prime Minister...and even before he was elected until after he walked out the door, the left leaning Canadian Media literally hammered him on a daily basis. There were a couple of "Journals" that treated him fairly but...the unrelenting daily shout down from the ass clowns of the Liberal Media Echo Chamber was too much. It was sickening to watch...spin ahead to today...we have a Spoiled Trust Fund Baby at the helm who is a cringe worthy international embarrassment...so what do we hear from the Liberal MSM...nothing but fawning and ass kissing.
BTW...I have not, to this point seen any angry crowds of Conservatives showing up at Universities with bats and bicycle locks bashing Liberal heads in.

Again...even before Donald was elected...CNN, MSNBC, CBS...etc...etc. were already piling on with the same ugly Echo Chamber Vitreol that I became accustomed to here.....Sickening!!....And IT WILL NEVER STOP...no matter who the next Conservative candidate is!!
Hello...WAKE UP Liberals...your candidate lost...first off because she was a horrible candidate, and further more, every day common sense hard working  people are sick and tired of the escalating slippery slope of political correctness. The non-stop crying from the pathologically unhinged Liberals requires beach towels to mop up the river of tears...not tissues...SUCK IT UP...GET OVER IT.
