What blew me away was how little they gained without NOS.... for the amount of work went in.

shame they didn't find the Ignetec guys as they do relatively cheap ignition boxes that are programmable for 2-6 cyl bikes and it would have been interesting to see how it did with a few more revs.

But Sansevere appreciated the Japanese company’s workmanship, “Hondas are engineered a hell of a lot better than Harleys so a lot of their stuff was actually easier to work with.”

Ya gotta love this statement Smiley

This obviously applies to me (If you have to ask how much, you probably can't afford it.) but, I'm wondering, how much something like this costs?

That would be a wonderful monster to ride!!!   cooldude

Ross-da prez-and I were Very Fortunate to be able to ride Big Mikes blower bike at Asheville back in 14. I STILL git chills thinkin bout THAT Ride on THAT monster! All I can say iz-happy/glad that bike had the step seat or I'd been tossed off the back.  uglystupid2 When I cracked the throttle-loud grip?-the dog leg and the sharp right on the back of the motel parking lot came up rather QUICKLY. We here KNOW a stock Valkyrie ain't no starter bike and a blown or nossed bike WILL git an experienced riders tenshun!  2funny Big Mikes blower bike shur got my tenshun!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

If ya want a ride you have to hold onto try riding dogg's monster out of maryland. It puts out more horsepower without nos. has a custom made swing arm and a 330 rear tire that hooks, and when she hooks you better hope you are holding on cause she will leave without you.

Totally strange coincidence.  The Green, yellow, and purple bike in the article now belongs to a guy I go to church with.  Just helped him change his rear tire on the bike a couple weeks ago.  Sent him the link to the article and he had no idea the article existed.

Pretty cool.

Quite interesting article.

One cool bit: "Darren Clarke at Blais bored the stock motor to 1607, ported the heads and incorporated 1mm oversize, fly-cut racing pistons to allow for valve clearance. He decided on a 20mm lift for the camshafts (built by Web Cams) but felt the existing rods were adequate. A Pingel high-flow petcock was also installed. The first Dyno reading of 110 horsepower at the rear wheel was a disappointment."

Lots of work for just 10-12hp gain, I guess this tells a lot about the 'standard' Honda performance package.
