Drip - Ride

The drip: Some weeks ago I noticed a spot on the garage floor.  Since I am always working on something out there, I wiped it up and thought no more of it.  A few days later I noticed another nearly identical spot....right in the area I had just moved my Valk out of.  So a quick check .... found oil all over the lower left fork.  I read up on it, made a seal cleaning tool from a thin piece of plastic, scraped the seal and hey!  It seemed to work.

The ride: Wednesday was chilly but I had time and wanted to ride.  I have been thinking of Mac's Veteran's Day gathering and some ride routes that I might possibly show to a few other riders.  Now I also wanted to give the bike a workout to see if my seal fix was going to hold up.
I got up around 7am but fooled around until after 9 before pulling on my electro gear (heated liners) and backing the fat girl out of the garage.

I rolled up 120 miles.  It took 2 1/2 hours to make this part of the loop I am considering.  There were a couple of miles here and there that were just too rough to keep in the plan, but hey, that's why I wanted to ride it now.  Altogether I enjoyed this ride along farms, fields, creeks, rivers and lakes.

See you at Mac's Veteran's Day gathering.

Cool post :cooldude:

I'd order up some forks seals, fork oil and bushings to have on hand

What part of the world are you riding in?

I reside 10 miles north of Cookeville, TN.  This "ride" took me thru Granville, Gainsboro, along Roaring River, and over to Rickman, TN.

Concerning the forks, I hope to install a set of Progressive springs next summer.  I plan to do a full rebuild along with spring change.
