Were are you located? Why do you feel you need am new engine?
eBay has lots of good deals if you need a new engine

Adding your location into your profile helps with the 1st question.

As for the second, why, another would be how much are you looking for? Heads, short block. I've seen a lot of different prices.

Personally, if I needed a new engine, I would look into a Goldwing GL1500 with reverse, a lot cheaper. Would like to try to get the reverse working on a Valk. I'm not a heavy user of the HP on the Valk, so the GW would be fine. Or swap the parts from the Valk to the GW that add the HP to it.

I also have to ask WHY you feel that you need an new motor?

In the 8 years or so that I have been reading this board you will be the first one that I can remember that needed a new motor, IF in fact you really need one.

These motors are bullet proof, unless yours blew a timing belt and destroyed the valve train or it was hot rodded or something of that nature it can probably be repaired.

I really need a new engine. Connecting rod ruined the body of the engine. This seems impossible but it did happen. I cant upload a photo. But if anyone wants to see it then I can send it to them by email.

Hydrolock ? Are you trying to get one to Russia ?

 Why in Russia?

John Schmidt

Sergiy, I think he probably posted "why in Russia" before reading where you're located and was going by the name only. It does sound to me you experienced hydrolock or something similar. I've found the petcocks are probably the weakest link in the fuel delivery system on these bikes. Bad float valves in conjunction with that is probably the second worst item. I'd suggest watching Ebay, there's usually a good collection of motors on there.

Yes, I didn't see you had listed Ireland. Was it blank earlier ?

This isn't just some hydrolock. This is a broken connecting rod.
I sent you the photo by email.
Would you be able to repost it because I am not sure how to.
Thank you for your advice.

Yes, he hadn't posted his location yet. Steel cowboy suggested and I added up on it too.

I sold/swapped my wrecked IS engine for a Tourer that had half the mileage and a crack in the block, which we took as a connecting rod. Then took off all the external items and sold then off (easier than stripping my working motor down to a short block, and have the new owner build it back up with his parts). The techie who currently has the short block, I don't believe it's been torn apart yet to verify what happened.

Now that we know he is in Ireland, I think the GW engine would be the cheapest. Swap the heads/cams, carbs, anything else? I suppose check the parts fiche for the crank shaft, if it's the same.

I was thinking an over reved engine.

What part of Ireland are you in ? We rented bikes there a couple years ago and had a blast ! How much would shipping from USA cost ?

Well I have to admit, you are the first I am aware of that has blown up a Valkyrie. I will try to attach the picture you sent me. I think you would have a hard time keeping the oil in that block. I am not sure if that would be from hydrolock or not.

Did'nt you post this earlier somewhere? Something about downshifting at speed? Picture looks familiar.
Do you know if the heads are damaged" Good engines are available without heads and accessories. Should be a smaller, lighter and less expensive to ship unit to ship to Ireland. have you contacted Pinwall  or one of the other salvage sites to see if they can do it?

For example: 1997-2003 Honda Valkyrie GL1500 ENGINE MOTOR BLOCK TRANSMISSION BOTTOM END

Pinwall says that they ship world wide. Might be worth contacting them.

Per your link, on their shipping menu it's gives a rate of $395 US dollars.
