I agree, this didn't even make our local news.   My guess is, they are trying to keep this hushed.

No idea except what was on the site I posted.

Rand Paul Doing ‘Fine’ After Being Assaulted at Kentucky Home

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/rand-paul-doing-%E2%80%98fine%E2%80%99-after-being-assaulted-at-kentucky-home/ar-AAurIqs?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartanntp

Sen. Rand Paul ‘is fine’ after facing a surprise attack at his home in Bowling Green. Kentucky, on Friday.

“Senator Paul was blindsided and the victim of an assault. The assailant was arrested and it is now a matter for the police,” a spokeswoman for the Kentucky Republican told Roll Call. “Senator Paul is fine.”

Troopers responded to Paul’s residence Friday afternoon regarding an alleged assault, according to the Kentucky State Police.

“Upon their arrival, it was determined that Rene Boucher had intentionally assaulted Paul causing a minor injury,” the KSP said in a statement.

The troopers obtained a warrant for Boucher’s arrest and subsequently charged him with 4th degree assault under Kentucky law. The 59-year old man is being held at the Warren County Regional Jail. Bond was set at $5,000.

The state police have not released further details, citing an ongoing investigation.

State records list Boucher as an “inactive physician.” The anesthesiologist once developed a rice-filled vest for back pain relief  called the Therma-a-Vest that was sold on the QVC shopping channel. He appears to live very near Paul’s home, according to records.

Asked if the department was notified or involved in an investigation regarding the incident, Capitol Police spokeswoman Eva Malecki wrote in an email that the department does not comment on ongoing investigations.

Maybe the doctor was a proctologist and was too forceful in trying to remove the senator's head from his derriere.

Apparently you can't read. It clearly stated he was an inactive anesthesiologist.

No, it's why they only charged him with 4th degree assault.

charges can be upgraded

for instance if part of the lung was punctured by bone from the rib and Paul dies you have a murder or mansluaghter charge  (I will wait for the distinguished JAG from Va to chime in)

IMHO the charges will be upgraded  Time will tell

Someone comes to your home, sucker attacks you that is nothing funny

My prayers however are in Texas right now, the doctor should recover soon

Lung contusions certainly moves it out of the minor category.  Hopefully the charges will be updated.  Displaced ribs?  That's got to be serious and very painful.

Well, you would have to qualify which doctor... the attacker, the attackee, or the one who treated the patient... plethora of doctors involved here...  j/s.

True, well I hadn't taken that into consideration.   I actually meant the attending physician to the injured party.   Not the injured doctor nor, the attacking doctor but the attending doctor to the injured doctor.

Man, this comedy thing is tough.   Guess I'll stick to being an impotent person.  Wink

Why are those on the Left so destructive?  What makes them talk about blowing up the White House, or shooting a congressman, or beating up a Senator, trashing stores and cars, beating up and stealing the car of a guy they think voted for Trump, surrounding a single woman and throwing rocks and eggs at her for wearing a Trump shirt, other Trump supporters beaten on their way home, a congresswoman shouting the TEA PArty can go to hell, calling for death to police, bomb threats to synagogues, etc, etc, etc. ?

I wondered about that too. I think he is still a practicing doctor. Perhaps many
of them have "real lives" outside of Washington?

Who gains when we are divided is always my question

We have limited choices

Acting like an honorable person should be ones first choice and obligation

Get that right first

Unfortunately the attacker had other ideas..wonder if anyone put him up to it

The Daily Mail article stated that Boucher claimed he was in a dispute over trees on Paul's property that restricted his view to a pond in the gated community.
If there are no Restrictive Covenants filed against property titles preventing property owners from planting trees on certain areas of their property then Boucher has no legal claim to a view to the pond. Just another unhinged Democrat taking his frustration out on a Republican, would be my guess.
